i thought that the wrestling in wisconsin was mediocre at best...i was in the "excellent" catagory with the sectional and state qualifiers, if only i lived in wisconsin

Hmm...bold statement there buddy. I think I know of quite a few Wisconsin wrestlers that are pretty tough and I think Johnny Starzyk(and other nationally ranked kids) will second that after his loss this weekend to Wisconsin's TJ Wunnike. Don't get me wrong, overall Illinois is better in my opinion, but they do have some pretty good kids up there. So to say that Wisconsin wrestling is "mediocre at best" because you went to some off-season folkstyle tournament the same weekend as folkstyle nationals and NHSCA nationals seems a bit rediculous, don't you think?

Johnny pinned Wunnicke according to the bracket sheets

Ahh...you're right. I got my results off of the gimpsoftware.com site(senior brackets are no longer up), and apparently the bracket was wrong. Regardless, I think it still can be said that Wisconsin has some pretty tough wrestlers, just not quite the depth.

Well what about Ben Askren, Matt Pell, Max Askren, etc. etc. I know that is not wrestlers in Wisconsin today but are you saying they are only mediocre at best?

Wisconsin has its share of studs. WI may not have the depth that Illinois has, but they have kids that can go with anybody. Most of them were at the nationals in Virginia Beach. I would suggest going back to a Wisconsin tournament on a weekend that the top guys are not out of state.
