Correlated Regionals are out on ihsa.org

Peoria (Woodruff) Team Sectional (6)
Normal (Community West) Individual Sectional
A = Champaign (Central)
B = Minooka
C = East Peoria
D = Bloomington (H.S.)

Nothing too new here... But Rock Island is Hosting a Sectional and one of thier REGIONAL HOSTS is LASALLE PERU....

+ Bishop Mac is back down in Class A from what I heard!

Who will leave with Peru to go west? Who will replace them & B-Mac in the Minooka REgional????

Could get interesting.

What if... L-P(Host regional) and Pontiac go West. Then subtract Bish-Mac(goes "A"), that leaves 3 schools to be replaced. Don't forget, Minooka is the hosting a regional.

Here's the what if... what if four schools come out of the old Plainfiled regional into the Minooka regional? Provi, Lincoln Way Central, Plainfield Central-North-South, Joliet etc, etc, etc...??? Sure would make for a tough regional and it would add a lot to the sectional AND provides some relief(talent wise) for the Downers North Grove sectional.

2008 Minooka regioanl?????????-- Minooka(Host) Morris, Bradley(B-B), Ottawa, Joliet, Joilet Catholic, Plainfield South, Plainfield Central.

Actually with some A teams moving to AA down south (Granite) some of the southern schools on the boarder of the IHSA zone should be moving up. This may push more teams up and out of that Minooka Reg. Where else are they gonna go down south with the overload?

Who is moving up to AA??

I know BMac is going down to Class A So that is one team out of the MInooka Regional

Looking at the Enrollment #'s from http://www.ihsa.org/school/enrolln.htm I don't see the schools that you speak of.

Murphsyboro are at 683 so they would be in Class A.... in the new system they would be 2a for the 3 & 4-class split.

But since the IHSA does not want Wrestling to ever reach 3 classes Murphysboro will be in class A.

Some of those schools that are far south could easily get put with Minooka. That would be a smart move for all sectionals. Spread the talent.

its true that Murphysboro is A now.

Granite City has always been AA so idk where pressure33 heard that but there is no change there.

There is however, talk of Charleston and Mattoon moving to the Central Sectional which would hurt both teams and individuals. they have both lost many key wrestlers.

Charleston lost 10 seniors but they still have 2 strong wrestlers Thomason (130) and Wurtsbaugh(119).Mattoon lost Webb(215) but they still have Orr (103) and Drummond(189) which are both very good and i see them going to state this year as seniors.
