From what I understand, Les Armes, originally from Bloomingtom, has had a re occurrence of a brain tumor. Les was a state placer at 154 pounds in 1966 and was a 2 times NCJAA National Champion in 1969 and 1970 at 177 pounds while wrestling for Black Hawk College in Moline. At NJCAA Nationals in 1969 he was voted Outstanding Wrestler. He was inducted into the NJCAA Wrestling Hall of Fame in 1984. In 2003 he was awarded the first State Medal of Courage by the IWCOA, I believe. He has been an Assistant Coach at Moline High School in recent years. Your thought and prayers are appreciated. I am told they will be attempting to remove the tumor on Monday at a facility in the Quad City area.
