Looks like Jake is the guy for Bloomington at 103. How is 112 unfolding?

Based on the Conant tourney , it must be Jake Bellis at 103 and Jake Erdman at 112lbs.

Pekin just got a transfer from Bloomington, his name's Mason Turner. He said he got 4th in sectionals freshman year, and then was out last year because of athletic code violations. Anyone know anything about this kid?

Bellis is 103 for now. It could stay that way but Mariani is cutting down to three and will be pretty tough if he gets there. Erdman is the only one that can make 12 right now. Cole is at 119 and Sorensen is up around 119 as well.
Turner did get 4th at sectionals as a freshman and was kicked off of the team right before regionals last year. Not sure for what though. If he put his mind to it he could be extremely tough.

Wow those boys got a lot bigger...How about the Thul kid? What's he weighing? Can Mariani beat Bellis if he makes 103? They are stacked with young talent in those lower weights...

It is sad to see you come on to a forum and be so negative towards things that don't meet your standard. It is to bad that in the past you have stated all you care about is individuals instead of the team aspect. Maybe if you had a little more class bloomington wrestling would actually get over that hump. Instead of the kids worrying about what their head coach thinks.

Funny how things are interpretted differently. I didn't see this as negative, just a fact. The quote he responded to asked if anyone knew anything about the Turner kid. He stated what he knew. I thought of a couple of responses to the question, however I decided to withhold.;)

Wow.....
Unless I missed something, no one has ever said that Mr E is a coach at Bloomington High School.
If you are indeed referring to their coaches, they have always seemed to be pretty classy to me. How could you say a coach doesnt care about his athletes or his team?? The BHS coaches have been around for a long time, and they have had a lot of good teams and many good individuals. They certainly care, and they certainly do their best to prepare their athletes for the postseason.
Also, I dont think Mr E was attacking anyone....simply stating facts.

I asked Mason if he said this to his teammate and he said nope, and thinks it is funny I even read or care about the post on this board. He is the new kid on the team; probably a lot of I heard, blah, blah, and blah. It is strange to watch him in anything other than the colors of Bloomington. Anyhow, he never placed fourth at sectionals, I remember he lost to Small of Ottawa whom lost his next match, and therefore his freshman season was over. Last year, he wrestled till the conference tournament, that was the last time he wrestled as a sophomore. My son has had some ups and downs like most 16 year olds, but wrestling teaches perseverance.

Lopaka...
I definitely believe kids will do what is right when pushed in that direction, when their heart is in the right place. He is a very good wrestler and I look forward to seeing him back on the mat. How is the older brother?
(I apologize if I sounded negative toward Mason in my comments - that was not my intent)

Gutwrench, what exactly is your problem with Mr. E's post? All the post did was show the facts from the sectional results of a particular year. Are you attempting to gain some type of revenge... your post makes no sense... somewhere down the line you must of taken a beating from Bloomington.

How is that negative? What standard? My post had absolutely no opinion whatsoever. Someone asked a question that was answered erroneously. Just clearing things up. Are you on crack?

I guess I'm not really sure where you are coming from...The only comments I made were regarding the sectional results. I guess you are referring to Mason Turner? To be perfectly honest, Mason Turner is a very nice kid, and a good wrestler. I don't know what he did or didn't tell anyone at Pekin and frankly, I don't care. Pekin has a great coaching staff and I wish him well there and I think he will have a lot of success. As for your other comment, I do think that wrestling is an individual sport and I feel like the emphasis should be on improving each individual to their fullest potential. I don't put a lot of stock in the team aspect of wrestling. If enough kids on the team want to work hard and improve, then you should have a pretty good team. In my opinion, seeing individuals improve and have success because of hard work is much more important and rewarding than getting a team trophy at a tournament or having a great dual season. When it's all said and done, nobody remembers a coach's dual record, but they do recall the tough individuals that wrestled for that school. I invite you to reply if you would like to debate this, or at least explain what you were talking about.

Which 103 is B-Town sending to the Pontiac tournament? I remember last year Cole(103) was there while the rest of the team went to Granite City(I think).
