Class A Kids need tp be in this list. Jeff Bybee (145 Chillicothie IVC) Mike Letton (Hwt Bishop Mac). Probably 3/4 of Wilmington's lineup. A lot more talent is out there in Central Illinois!

i agree w bybee but BMac and Wilmington really rnt in the central area the are pretty far north but then again BMac was in the central sectional a couple years ago. and i agree that A kids need to be in there like Walker and a couple other kids from IB and Macomb has Meyers and Kline and Hall. Idk bout the rest of the area i just know them from wrestling thier teams

If Mac and Wilmington are not considered central Illinois, which I agree with you 100%, how can any list include Bradley, Morris, Providence, and Minooka then as central Illinois participants?

Based on who I saw listed at aa we can add a lot of names from A.
I have watched some A teams kick some AA teams and their HM honor rolls. Bybee would be one of em lol.

For the record. The list is wrestlers in the AA "central" sectional being hosted at Normal West. It was put together by a couple of coaches throughout the Sectional and PM'd to me to post.....

Not that the Class A guys are not deserving of recognition, they just do not stand in the way of kids qualifying for the AA state tournament at Normal West and thus are not on the Radar of the AA coaches. The list I posted are those that might make noise in that sectional.

CLASS A Fans... Make a list of your own if you want to recognize the class A wrestlers, they surely are deserving.

It might have been simpler to just post it on the AA board instead of on the A board...or did you folks not notice? No offense taken thanks for the input it clarified and mollified my ruffled feathers.

I disagree with Tariq if you look at the U High brackets his record as of the end of that day is 8-5 two losses to of which where McCall who i also dont think should be on there. at the beginning of the year they would have been a top guess at 119 but they have both kind of fallen off the map. but who knows i could be wrong anything can happen in feb

Pressure33
01-17-2008, 07:44 PM
That may be his record at this point in the season but I would absolutely include him... 112 pound returning state qualifier and a rough customer who i'm sure will represent well come sectional tourney time. Muhammad teched a guy 16-0 in the Semis of the U-High Tournament with an 18-3 record... who knows McCall may have his number but he will be in the mix!

Danny Burk
01-17-2008, 08:44 PM
McCall will be at 125 for the postseason I think. Tariq is definitely someone you need to include on any list involving our sectional. He has tremendous athletic ability and a good coach. Whether or not he makes it to state, he is still one of the top 6 kids at that weight class. Of course, he will need to put together a nice tourney at Sectionals to win matches, but thats the way it should be.

Pressure33

As Maximus stated... our sectional will send a solid contingent down state to compete for medals. If Tariq wrestles up to his abilities he will be one of them.

119 is one of the tougher weight classes. Mike Tohger looks to be the Provi 119 now. Tohgs is a freshmen and just finished 3rd at Geneseo.

A good wrestler, or two, will be staying home for state at 119 this year.

Anyone else chomping at the bit for the real season to begin?????:D

Wasn't their SR. night against washington and Morton. If so, he did wrestle at least against Washington. If he didn't wrestle against Morton, the fact that Meyer was there might have something to do with it?? He looked fine against Washington though!!!

C'mon Stepped, you have been posting a lot, and have given some good insight and information, but to gain respect on the board you have got to be more unbiased toward the Canton wrestlers. The do have some tough kids, but they aren't all cheated or hurt when they lose. I doubt they would make excuses for themselves, so stop making excuses for them. You are coming off as just a Canton guy, not a Central IL observer...maybe that's what you want?

Mr. E you are right i have been biased toward the canton kids and thats not what i intended to do. I am here to discuss central IL wrestling not just Canton wrestling. Saying that JP was hurt was biased and was said just because he is a good friend of mine but he was hurt and did wrestle washington that night i was wrong but not wrestling meyer that night was a smart decision on his part cause he wouldnt want to futher injure himself in a tough match. I am going to stop being so biased toward them and start talking CENTRAL

JP and Meyer met up again yesterday. JP took 2nd at conference. He's 0-3 against the kid from Morton. I may not get to watch Canton wrestle, but I do pay attention to what they do and the results.

I also know what's going on with JP as I'm his aunt. If he's injured and needed to rest up for conference so be it. They did meet up again. And with Regionals and Sectionals next, who knows what will happen?

More power to both, okay maybe I should be more biased. Both are good wrestlers and should be given credit when and where due.
