Looking at last year and comparing to this year what weight was the toughest last year.... Of course this will exclude those who graduated...

For Example..
130 last year:
had.... Martin, Pieritz, Shuck, Olsen all ranked...

Now that these wrestlers are spread out...
they are ranked...
130 #1 Martin
135 #1 Shuck
140 #6 Olsen
152 #1 Pieritz

140 last year... Lind, Taylor, Colletti, Cox, Kindelsperger

This year
145 #1 Lind
145 #2 Cox
145 #3 Kindelsperger
145 #4 Taylor

See this year they are all bunched up...

Now that we can look back at it and compare last year to this year, what weight was the toughest last year????

171 and 215 were the best. Norberg, Winterhalter & Blackburn. Vercelli, Strathman and Haeflinger.

If we were talking about the level of competition just at the state tournament, I would say 215 was the best last year, but if it was the average quality of the wrestlers, I would go with 145. Lots of the 145 matches I saw were pretty close, especially at the Byron Sectional last year. There were also some real tight ones in Champaign.
