The following rules will be used
Scoring
*1 pt . = Is awarded for gaining a normal takedown (i.e. single leg)
*2 pts. = Are awarded for a takedown in which the defensive wrestler is taken directly to his/her back and held for at least a 1 count.
*3 pts. = Are awarded for a takedown in which the defensive wrestler is taken directly to his/her back and held for at least a five count.
Pins = If there is a pin in the 1st period then 4 pts will be awarded and both wrestler will be put back up into the neutral position. In the second period, if the score is tied or the wrestler that is leading pins their opponent then the match is over. In the second period if the trailing wrestler pins their opponent, then the wrestlers will be placed back in the neutral position until the match is over or the wrestler that is leading (or tied score) pins their opponent.
Example: Wrestler A takes down Wrestler B for 1 pt. Wrestlers are put back into neutral position. Wrestler A then gets a takedown and a pin Wrestler A receives 4 points, making the score 5-0. Start of the second period the score is 5-0 and both are neutral. Wrestler B gets a takedown and pins wrestler A. The wrestlers are put back onto their feet the score is 5-4, wrestler A. They both go back to neutral position. Wrestler B takes wrestler A to his back and pins him. The match is over and wrestler B is the winner because the score was tied after the points were scored and a pin may occur when the match is tied or the leading wrestler is pinning in the second period.
Matches consist of 2 periods based on the age group.
At anytime during the match, if one wrestler leads by 10 pts. it is considered a "Technical Fall" and the match is over.
After points are awarded the clock will stop and the wrestlers will be placed back into the neutral position.
If there is a tie at the end of the regular period, the match will go into overtime. Overtime will consist of unlimited sudden death. First point scored wins.
Stalling will be called (Warning 1 pt., 1 pt., 2 pts., Disqualify)
If there is a tie record after the bracket is completed. It will go to Head-Head, total number of takedowns, 3 pt. Takedowns, then 2 pt. Takedowns.
King of the Hill Competition Rules
At the conclusion of all wrestling we will take each age division to a mat and line them up by weight. We will then play "King of the Hill". Just like practice, we go by size upwards. One takedown wins and the winner stays in until he is beaten. Awards will be given to Longest Reign (Most Takedowns) and Last One Standing.
