One of the most anticipated duals of the year is coming on Friday as Public League power Hubbard goes to Caravan Center to take on Mt Carmel. The dual will start at either 5 or 6pm.

This is your lone in-season opportunity to hear Hubbard state placer Travis Hammons (160) in action prior to the State Tournament. His likely opponent could be Darrick Hardy (160) or Lawrence Henning (152).

Live updates of this dual will start 15 minutes prior to first match and can be accessed through www.ISNetChicago.com by clicking on the "Chicago HS Sports on the Spot" banner.

A re-webcast of the dual will happen Friday night at 11pm through Caravan SportsNet [www.MCSports.US] and on ISNetChicago from that point forward.

If by anticipated you mean watching an average Public League team with two good wrestlers be absolutely crushed by one of the top five teams in state, then, yes, that is anticipation.

For showing a world of Ignorance and low class. Mt. Carmel is one of the premiere teams in the state, and anytime a team can wrestle a team of Mt. Carmels calibre, is always a positive experience. We have a young team who is eager to wrestle any team in the state, in order to become better. You have to wrestle better compitition to become better. And that's exactly what we have been doing. We are thankful to even get a chance to wrestle some of the top teams in the state, and who knows there might be a few surprises. Any good wrestler and coach knows, anybody can be beat on any given night. Like I said before, we are looking at the positive outcome of the matches, win or lose, the learning aspect of the matches. The one's that make our kids better, and push our kids to want to get better at wrestling. We don't have room for negativity. So thanks for posting such ignorance. We are looking at the positives in the matches. and yes it is anticipated, because we are confident we will do our best, and that's all that is asked of us! (e-mail - ecochiseo@hotmail.com)

How is a post filled with "a world of ignorance and low class" when it is true? Or is it simply that you don't agree with it? EcochiseO, you need to step back and take off the extremely biased blinders you have on and realize that 98% of the teams in the state this year cannot compete with MtC. That's far from some form of a slam on your team, it simply is what it is, which is the truth. Good luck to your team in slaying that giant-of-sorts.

Hey Griffs!!

Believe it or not, it was Hubbard that sought out this match earlier this year and Mt Carmel agreed to hook up with them.

I invite you to come on out and check out the meet tonight and judge for yourself. If it winds up being a blowout, so be it. At least give Hubbard credit for seeking out competition rather than sitting on its heels.

Mr. Washington,

I appreciate your invitation and if it weren't for prior commitments I most certainly would attend.

One thing to understand about my post is that I was not stating that Hubbard "shouldn't" be wrestling Mt. Carmel, as if they had "no business" to, just that Hubbard is not in their league at this time, with the exception of one kid, maybe two. That's not to say that Hubbard should seek out easy wins, because that clearly doesn't help their team. Sectional match-ups could have played into it, too. I think it's great that Hubbard sought out Mt. Carmel for this dual and that's really all I have to say about it.
