Friends, those are just favorites. There is a difference between favorites and predictions. That list was all of my favorite wrestlers I enjoy watching not who is going to win the whole thing. Geez, I already know who is going to win the individual state titles however I will let the season play out and give my "predictions" in February. You know I can't hold all your hands and spoil the EXCITING season we have ahead of us.

Maybe we should try to talk to some "insiders" and try to see how lineups for some of the schools are suppose to plan out.

Ross Ferraro would have a hard time even making state at AAA let alone be the favorite to win. Not to mention no chase, ramos or morrison and that Montini is AA so none of these picks make sense
MR TWISTER
11-10-2008, 08:08 PM
Somewhere in there you have to put the state runner up Matt Boggess of Prospect at 135 or 140.
And you also have to consider Marian's Mark Marianovich as well...at 135 or 140 too.
These are two of the top ten wrestlers in the state and have to be considered in any discussion of favorites.
And I agree if you are not listing Jimmy Chase, Jon Morrison or Tony Ramos how can we consider your list as a serious list?
For that matter Lee Munster is always a threat as a former state champion. Come on now....who made that list ....in the dark?

I think 103 is a tough weight to pick. First it's hard to even say who from last year is gonna make 103 again. If thats the case, I would say Chris Williams has a decent shot at it, but definitely no shoe-in! He got third last year!

Winning it is a tough call.
I think Doug Moravic from WV will do well if he can make the weight again. He is a Sr this year. I think Frankin Mckowen from Naperville North will also do well. My dark horse may be Eddie Greco from Marmion... The Glenbard North kid should do well also....
Not sure if any of them will win it or make it to sate, but they should all have success this season. They should also all be in the same Regional.

First of all Isnt Munster going 171???
Second of all, Geezus if these are your favorites how cant you favorite Someone like Ramos?? He is a nose to the grindstone type of wrestler!! If you beat him you are leaving that match either lucky ORRRR severly beat up.
This is how i see the rankings?
103- Not familiar with 103 this year it lost alot from last year either from graduation or moving up in the weights 103 is a freshman class.
112- 1.Keith Surber
119- 1.Edwin Cooper
125- 1.Jon Morrison
2.Chris/Nick Dardanes(There Twins Who knows which ones which)
130- 1.Tony Ramos
2. Dardanes again
135- 1. Jimmy Chase
2. Mark Marinovich(Sorry if i bashed the name)
140- 1. Matt Boggess
2. Elis Coleman
145- 1. Bobby Barnheisel
2.Matt Walters
152- 1. HELP ME
2. OUT!!!!
160-1.Mark Stenberg
171- 1. Carl Foreside
2.Matt Dweyar
I can only get up to 171 without contemplating my knowledge of the wrestlers in the upper weights. I put these wrestlers where i thought the should be based on the salivia in their mouth for that state championship. I also put it in because of there wrestling ability Now some will say well no Sh**! But im saying old School Wrestling where you come of the mat with just a bruise on your forehead it was a COMFORTABLE match. Please dont bash i am no expert in predicting winners i would like to just throw my opinion out there.
GOOD LUCK TO THE WRESTLERS!! AND LETS START ANOTHER GREAT SEASON!!!

You guys are putting a lot of pressure on this freshman. I hope he lives up to it. It kind of reminds me of what was said about Cooper last year. And in the end he came up a bit short. Great season but too much was expected from the fans in my opinon. Same fans, same team. Hopefully not the same results, for the young mans benefit.
