Best Match ... Cooper vs Trevor Jauch. Cooper controls the 1st 5:00 min of the match then Jauch turns him with a DEEP 1/2 to tie it up 5-5 with 20 sec to go. Cooper takes an Injury time out... when wrestling resumes they get in a scramble and Jauch locks hands, followed by cooper getting an escape. Cooper then fends off a last second shot attempt by Jauch to win 7-5

OPRF has 7 in the semi-finals. Providence and CLC are both right up there as well. Consolation wrestle backs begin at 10a tomorrow (sat) with the semi finals immediately after. A few other notes: Klimara is that good. Cooper hasn't missed a beat. Ellis Coleman may not have a match go the distance. Crystal Lake Central is for real...and they are LOADED. There is a potential match-up of Chris and Nick Dardanes from OPRF in the finals vs Tony Ramos and Jimmy Chase from GBN. Keep an eye on Nick Ruffino from SCE at 119lbs...that kid has some serious talent. Also, freshman Sam Brooks in the semi finals from OPRF...at 160lbs (cert@152). Brother Ben Brooks from OPRF vs Clayton Kendall DLS in the semis. Great tournament so far. The Chase vs Wojick match was a good one. Oh yea...Thomas Cole from Bloomington is good at folkstyle as well as Greco. Just a few quick observations.

As far as team scores OPRF was in the lead with Providence second when I left, Crystal Lake Central was third and Glenbard North was 4th. The rest I don't remember.

Lots of good matches today going into the finals and a few teams suprizing others like Crystal Lake Central, they look tough. OPRF and Provi did well as well their teams looked solid. GBN's lower weights looked tough their upper weights faltered a bit. Bloomington and Leyden are looking decent as well. Only upset I really saw was Gosinski from GBN losing in the wrestlebacks.

Trevor Parlberg is a talented wrestler and should have a great season in AA this year. However, you are mistaken in the fact that he won by nothing less than a major dec. The final score of the finals match was 6-3 with a questionable takedown near the end. Not to take away from his win or ability, but let's give some credit to the Leyden wrestler who gave him a run.
