With the Conant tourney victory for Oak Park River Forest over Providence they are arguably but probably now the #1 team.

What a great match up at the Conant. Great way to start the season with #1 vs #2...dual or individual or team...it's great...

Agreed. While the "dual vs tournament" discussion can begin right now, the only actual head to head between these two great teams has concluded and OPRF is #1,

Easy... Provi's bigger guys ares still reeling from a playoff loss two weeks ago. When the Celtics are full strength we'll see. For now enjoy the number 1 ranking.

Rankings are just for fun and it is SO early. Any number of teams, Providence, Nequa, GBN, CLC, etc could beat OPRF in a dual on any given day. Everybody is missing somebody right now (OPRF didn't have their 103lber so they scored 0 points in that weight class, CLC was short, Providence and GBN weren't full strength either at Conant). What I take away from the performances as Conant were who and what teams are for real. Klimara IS the real deal. Providence is DOMINANT in the lighter weights. OPRF is solid in the middle. CLC is also FOR REAL. They can't beat Montini, but they are a solid #2 in class AA.

If Providence had there upper weights they would have won Conant. They were without their starting 189, 215, and 285.

In my opinion, OPRF should be #1 based on their head-to-head with Providence (my alma mater, obviously).

While I always enjoy seeing my alma mater ranked highly thoughout the season, I always want them to be #1 at the end of the season -- when it really counts.

Considering that it's your alma mater, this is a pretty generous observation. We can make assumptions, speculations and 'ifs and buts' all year long. However rankings have to take into account the actual results, or its just a fantasy league. OPRF #1 based upon the Conant Results.

New #1 in triple A, probably for right now. Although i think results would be different in a dual.

Very tough to call this early. It's a weird match up because Providence is SO tough in the lighter weights and OPRF is tough in the middle. The heavier weights would be a toss up.

Anyone willing to do a virtual dual between Provi and OPRF?
