I saw a lot of good matches. Spangler impressed as well as dwyer. Mercadante was also solid beating a tough savenok who seemed gased. Jameson oyster looked good with a pin over walliualah.

I agree. Top wrestlers were spangler, dywer, and mercadente. Spangler dominated, dwyer beat a tough Gonzalez, and mercadente dominated 2 tough opponents. All deserve some recognition... Zinzer was also quite impressive, pinning a ranked wrestler in Crawford from stc e.

Why no mention of Ruffino at 125. He has been outstanding for a freshman at the varsity level. Can't understand why he's not ranked. Someone needs to take notice!

He has started off great. He did get dominated by the West Aurora kid though.

I agree, although you have to give him his just rewards. As I understand it he is the only Freshman on the Varsity Roster at East. We should be looking at the bigger picture. He will do great things!

That would be nice. I couldn't find them in any paper. BTW Ruffino was beaten by a sophomore from West Aurora who is not ranked either so I don't think there is a good case to put him in the rankings yet. I do agree that he is going to be good and will undoubtedly make a name for himself as he gains some experience and matures at the high school level against better competition.

Good, but I dont know that he should be ranked yet... lets see what happens at palatine.

If he is to be ranked right now, a couple dozen other kids would need to be ranked. He has the potential, but he is not there yet.

I thought Ruffino was going to Marmion with some of the other kids from SCN. He's a good talent although his fitness seems down. I've seen him gas out 2 or 3 times in the third period. He almost got stuck by a freshman from St. Charles North(Noverini) late in the third and was fortunate to win. He can be good if he gets in shape.
