Anybody hear anything about Dundee Crown this year? I know they won Hindsdale South but is this a team that is going to do anything down the stretch?

let's see, DC125 (I'm kinda guessing you gave yourself that name for a reason),..................................

Talk 'em up; tell us all about them; strong points AND weak points.
Then have fun when your teamate's pound you into oblivion tomorrow.

Seriously; they're gonna be just fine. 4-5 kids that just might take conference.

I happen to know who DC125 is, and lets leave it at this: He is NO LONGER at DC and is in college where he is not able to keep up with his Alma Mater. He was simply coming on to the Premier Website for Illinois Wrestling and hoping to get some reliable information.

Lets just help him out a bit.... Artheritis, I know your posts are never negative, lets keep that streak going.

There was a article in the paper recently about Zinke and it being his last year.
I remember Zinke said this is his smallest club in 30 years numbers wise. I know they have a few above average kids(statewise) who will do well at conference/regionals.

'Twas all in fun Flashy (DC125 has been on here foe a couple of years, so I was pretty certain he wasn't the current 125).
As said earlier, they should be just fine. I won't hide the fact that I'm a CLC supporter, but anybody that wants to bet against a Zinke team is free to do so. Just make sure you have enough dough to cover the wager, the chances are pretty good you'll need it.
BTW, DC125. You might want to change the screen name to "alumn" or such. You're replacement @ 125 is one of the reasons they'll be just fine & he may want the screen name.

DC125 I havent been to any meets yet this year, but I have read the the Lee brothers are coming into their own. As well as Muscat and Lewis. DC vs CLC should be a good dual meet again this year, as it has been in years past. Does anyone know if the face off before or after Xmas

Nice! I will definately have to write that down somewhere, I would hate to miss that dual. Anyone know what some key match ups may be?

Some good match ups
119 Jauch vs Abitua - if Jauch bumps up
125 Malouf vs Lee
130 Blickle vs Lee
145 Kielbassa vs Muscat

Should be a tight dual depending on who goes where.

Would 125 and 130 be rematches from Conference Title matches last year? I thought Muscat was at 152 or 160, but that would be a great match to watch between those two

Can I get a confirmation on the location? The D155 website schedule shows it being in Crystal Lake. I tried looking up D300's site for a schedule but couldn't find a schedule anywhere (I'll blame it on illiteracy; I went to IRVING Crown).
Love to jab you DC guys on that one, but I have to admit Crown had some of the greatest teachers when I went there.

McHenry County Sports shows that it's at CLC.

CLC won 45-24 , but DC forfeitted the last 4 weights 171, 189, 215 & 285.
Does anyone know why??

DCfan21

DC kicked their heavy weight and another one of their upper weights off the team. They were not coming to practice, and their 215 is not suppose to wrestle for another week or so, due to an injured shoulder. He would have only wrestled if the dual meet came down to his match, but forfeiting the other three weights made it pointless for him to wrestle and risk any additional injury to his shoulder. Still the matches that were wrestled were exciting to watch.

DC weighed in 3 wrestlers at 171 and 2 at 215. It is not like they had no one there. The DC kids in the upper weights were definitely overmatched, including the injured one. The forfeits didn't impact the outcome, but why not give the wrestlers some experience? It was an exciting dual until that point. Great atmosphere.

The forfeits did impact the outcome, DC lost........
Where was Abitua?

DC would have lost anyway Zinke was just trying to pad the DC records to get them a better seed at the Conference tournament

a couple of years ago Zinke Ripped former Jacobs coach Bren Thomas in the local paper for sitting out a couple of his wrestlers for team discipline.
WHAT A HYPOCRITE

Yea I figured that's typical for Zinke and his team.
I remember the Jacobs situation. Zinke said in the paper the next day he would have sent out JV guys instead of foreiting weights. For DC it's all about conference seating insteading of letting them wrestle.

The DC 171's that weighed in were freshman, one did not wrestle and hasn't in a few weeks. And one is a first year wrestler, how would he benefit from going out and getting beaten up by Parlberg (Sp?) He should wrestle the freshman,jv kids where he can be competitive and grow as a wrestler. And as for padding stats, I don't think any of the upper weights for DC would have been seeded in the conference anyways, so it was not about padding stats. You need at least 5 wins in conference to be seeded I believe. So holding a jv kid out, or an injured kid who hasn't wrestled enough to be seeded, is not padding records.

As for Abitua, I am not positive where he was. I heard he didn't make weight, and I heard he wasn't in school. I was looking forward to seeing that match though, hopefully the two 112 lbers see one another at conference, it should be a good match.

I'm a CLC fan, & I agree w/DCfan 21 on this one about not sending an overmatched kid out; just as I agreed with Marc Tadelman doing the exact same thing when he 1st started & EVERY coach & fan ripped him for doing it.
During Tadelman's 1st few years he had nothing: I vividly remember going to meets where CLC's varsity had 5 kids; 2-3 of which really shouldn't have been on varsity. There was no understanding or compassion about what Marc was doing, & DC was just as opposed about what Marc was doing as anybody else. I guess what goes around comes around.
DC's been losing a lot of it's wrestlers lately. Sending a kid out to embarrassment could only make it worse. Al's no dummy, & I for one will give him the benefit of the doubt that he did it for the good of his kids & not for the tournament seading. Given the number of kids whose lives he's turned around over the years, I think he's earned that one.
I hope none of this flaming is coming from the CLC side. Face it: DC did the best it could Friday night & CLC was flat-out flat. I saw what CLC can do on Satuday: it was like a different team from Friday night.
