There is a Frosh/Soph tournament directly after the season... coaches will have the info
Everyone can compete that is freshman and Sophmores only... its not run thru the IHSA
Kids qualify thru regions and then meet for the frosh/soph state tournament... last year it was in Springfield... there is a 6 lb weight allowance on all 14 weight breaks....

There is usually a large weight allowance, sometimes there are qualification criterias, such as placing top 3 or 4 at regionals and sectionals. Usually IHSA fres/soph that qualify for the IHSA state tournament are prohibited from participating.

There is always the criteria if that you qualify for the IHSA State Tournament that you can not wrestle in Team Illinois Frosh/Soph State. It is a great experience. Recommend to all.

the information for this years tournament is not posted but www.teamillinois.com (http://www.teamillinois.com) is the site for it. as said already there is weight allowence.
Rules from previous years
If you qualify for state you are not eligable to wrestle in fresh/soph state (4th place at sectionals is allowed to wrestle)
if your team qualifies for team state you are exempt from regionals
any number of kids from the same school can compete at the same weight
also you must get some sort of athletic competitor card which is like $15-30 dollars not sure on price

its a little early for this, wait till ihsa regional time and im sure all the information you need will be made available
