Colon and Sheley did not wrestle each other, both won by TF at 130 and 135 respectively. Both looked very good. Moline's Erik Carlson pinned Rudy in under a minute, he put a body lock throw that had the entire crowd ooh, both sides. Austin Guyton (152) also had a pin for Moline.

West Cathcart (G) beat Bruder in a close score (5-3 maybe),

Today's Dispatch/Argus has the box score.

sheely would handle colon. he is a 2X placer, and just missed placing last year. not to mention he has been in the ihsa finals. No need to put a target on you guy(colon's) back

I would tend to agree with you. Jesse is a great wrestler; he would have made it to state last year were it not for his ankle injury. But Sheley looked to be a notch above him. He toyed with Chris Ledbetter, who's pretty good in his own right (Chris won a match or two at sectionals last year as a Frosh and is on pace to become a member of the 100-win club by the time he's finished in 2011). Barring injury, both Colon and Sheley will get to state this year.

wise guy....

i actually have met both wrestlers....i know their credentials, and have seen both wrestle many times including each other once last year when colon only dropped a 8-2 dec to sheley, (and once during that match colon hit a firemans to sheleys back, but buzzer rang). with that said, personally i like colon better.....colon is the nicest kid you will ever meet and is VERY modest but sheley on the other had comes off to me somewhat cocky. all in all i like colon and i dont care who knows.....the whole target on someones back thing is stupid! My old coach explained it well like this "I dont care if everybody knows what kind of moves we (as in our team) like to do! i want you guys to be so good at your moves that it wont matter if they know what is coming because they will not be able to stop it anyways.".....now apply that theory to "putting a target" on someones back...with a good wrestler in place of the moves and noone can stop them if they are good enough.....idk if all of that makes any sence but thats my opinion.....

Colon is definitely a tough wrestler, but this is the toughest sectional in class AAA, (according to the rankings this past week- we have 38 wrestlers ranked in the top six- that would be almost half of all plaewinners!!!!!) So if he makes it to state as well as Moline's several other possibilities, that would be a great accomplishment in and of itself!
The West Aurora Regional will be a mini-state, WOW!!!!!
