IHSA biffed real hard on that one. And these are the same people that want to semi seed the state tournament. I hope the main event of the tournament wont be the semifinals as it has been for the most part the last 3 years.

You say it as if the IHSA intentionally did this to screw teams. They don't change regionals or sectionals based on rankings. All of those teams in the regional are in the same geographic area.

Varsitymatman05, would you prefer to be Normal or Rockford, with 130 and 125 mile drives to their Regional? There's not much the IHSA can do about that one, there just aren't enough AAA schools outside the Metro.

And the IHSA is certainly not going to base regional assignments on unofficial rankings from the first week of December.

Not disagreeing with anyone of you but this is why AAA sucks for Illinois. because 90% of the talent is concentrated in the direct chicago suburbs so you get supersectionals and super regionals instead of just regular regionals or sectionals. But on the plus side you dont get 3 or 4 average wrestlers in the bracket downstate everything will be more stacked. Im just a traditionalist i guess.

A few years ago the Downers North sectional was absolutely brutal. This area is stacked with good wrestlers - it's fun to watch

i know that first hand and in illinois no matter what class system you are in there is no way to avoid a murder hole bloodbath tourney o well work with what we have get out your fork and knife good things are a comin

lets not forget about the naperville north sectional last year and the year montini went AA absolutely brutal
