50-0 with 23 falls last year, 2X Iowa state champion
#1 nationally ranked 160# High School wrestler

I hope our Illinois men come prepared to wrestle. I hate Iowa and do not want them to repeat as champs.

They have a solid team with some nationally ranked wrestlers.

actually i take that back i just saw that at the dvorak last year he beat proctor 5-4 so that will be a great match this year and idk about akui cause i havent heard any results with him this year

I wouldn't count Akui out against anybody. He totally dominated Kenny Courts at Cadet Duels.

Gonzales also has as good a shot as anyone to win this weight.

Should be some intresting action in the semi's and finals at 160.

How many matches has Akui had this year? I've probably just missed them, but I have not read of any his results. Will he be wrestling at Dvorak? It just seems that it is time for him to start wrestling in and winning some of these big-name high school tournaments. (He was missed at Barrington.)

No. OPRF will be in Kansas City, MO for a huge national tournament, the Toshiba Business Solutions Midwest Wrestling Classic. I would love to see a match-up of Carew vs Nick Dardanes at 130lbs, and ANYONE vs Ellis Coleman at 140lbs.

Carew is wrestling 145 this year. However, he probably won't be able to wrestle at Dvorak this year.

That "can't" is an awfully strong word. Don't coun't out Dardanes, he and his brother bring it strong everytime. He may be the underdog, but he is a real threat to beat Carew.
