I have heard in the past the DVC is a top conference. However Minooka and PC (numbers 2 and 3 ranked on IM rankings) are in the SPC. So what is the toughest conference in the IHSA?
providence is in the ccl. which can be argued as the toughest conference, with providence, mount carmel, and st. rita consistantly at the top of the state.

Sorry ACO for the confusion. Thanks Raslindad for clearing it up for me, I did mean Plainfield Central. Though I did forget about the Catholic schools.

I think there is a bit more parity among the conferences this year, more than any year in recent memory. The DVC is down a bit; the CCL is down a bit; conferences like the West Suburban and Western Sun may be up, or at least not down.

For the CCL I wouldn't count St. Rita as one of the tough teams any more. I would consider Brother Rice one of the tough teams, however. As far as he SPC Minooka and Plainfield Central are the only 2 teams in that conference other than those 2 teams the conferece is weak.
woops, forgot about plainfield central. i was just thinking about pc being 1 at the start of the year, but i guess they did drop. i agree rice is better than rita this year, i was just referring to how consistantly great rita's program has been the past decade.

It's funny because I would NEVER have said this in the past, but looking at the WSC regardless of Lyons being in a down year, it has OPRF, Hinsdale Central, and York. I would say that it is tough. I still consider the DVC and CCL to be tops, mostly because of the individual wrestlers besides the teams, but I think the WSC is finally up there.

Yea good point mckbln WSC has 4 ranked teams this year and all look strong. But don't think too lightly of Lyons..they're young and they could surprise you.

Believe me...I would NEVER take Lyons too lightly...even though for some reason there are no Castillos or Lukanichs there this year...whats up with that??????
