Ohio TofC Team Duals Update
March 1, 2009

The initial Ohio Tournament of Champions Team Duals, to be held in conjunction with the regular TofC individual event on April 25, in Columbus, OH, is fast approaching filling up all their available spots.

Note: While we tried to form a Team Illinois, by individuals contacting us directly, we did not have enough people respond. The fact that we generally get anywhere from 50-75 Illinois entrants seems to warrant that there should be enough interest for someone from Illinois to put together an All-Star Team in at least one of our Divisions. With all the wrestling talent in Illinois, we can only hope that someone decides to take this upon themselves and try to get a team together.

Currently, 42 of the 60 available spots have been spoken for and, with the exception of the High School Community Division, all remaining Divisions have just two available spots left to fill. The High School Community Division still has half, or eight spots, left open. Teams participating currently represent 14 different states.

All teams participating in the Duals will be guaranteed to participate in five dual meets and team awards will be given to the top three teams in each of the six Divisions. In addition, the wrestlers competing in the duals are still eligible to compete in the individual tournament, where we are expecting more than 2500 wrestlers to compete. However, those wishing to compete in the individual competition must still meet qualification procedures and make sure to register.

Since many coaches are just in the process of finishing up their middle school/high school seasons, and just starting to plan their club seasons, we will still offer a special discount to those teams that send in their initial $100 deposit to us by March 10.

Additional information on the Team Duals can be found at: http://www.ohiotofc.com/index1.php?intId=5
