I was told that they were going to post the results on teamillinois website once they received the updates from the hosting schools.

Our son wrestled in the Regional meet at Mundelein High School this past Sunday and it was a disaster. They marked him down as losing his first match and apparently from there on out he had been wrestling Wrestle Backs. When we made them aware of there error and they said there was nothing we could do and that we should have caught it sooner. Sure that would have been possible but they didn't update the brackets until after the third round. They told him he would have to wrestle this next match to get him back in the running for sectionals but everything up to that point didn't count (3 wins). He had just finished a match not 15 minutes before that so needless to say that match didn't go so well and then before we knew it he had another match. So he had three matches within a hour and the day didn't end how it had started out with his three wins. Can anybody offer any suggestions or help???? After there mistake, with no apology to our son, he has now been bumped from Sectionals and is obviously very disappointed.

I was out there when your husband I assume came out there and asked if he was reading it right. It's a shame that that happened. I had a boy who wrestled three times in the first 2 hours and one who didn't wrestle until after noon. We also had a kid whose name was mispelled and asked politely to change the spelling and was told they didn't care. I'm glad there were some young refs but they blew a lot of calls and were easily swayed in their calls by parents who yelled loud enough. Some good wrestling but poorly run tournament. Elgin did better last year with two regionals in one gym.

Our tournament was 8 hours long, had only 2 mats in use and only 2 referees for the entire tournament. Booker Benford and Mark Kristoff are very good referees though and they kept things moving smoothly. Plus, the great folks at East St. Louis were great hosts.

They had four mats going and kept things moving their just was no rhyme or reason to how they called matches out. They bounced around at weights and updated brackets every three rounds or so. Some kids had matches one after another and some didn't wrestle for a couple hours inbetween. Lake Zurich always does the sectional really well so hopefully next weekend is better.

Aren't there any guidelines like there are for IHSA. I feel like there has to be something that can be done and that I need to make this right for my son. It isn't right what they did and I am sure other feel the same. I can't imagine that if it were one of there boys that they would stand for that. Ya gotta love that the mat 1 score board was out more than it was on and we had to point out that the kids at mat 3 scoring tables resemble more of a three ring circus than anything. What a shame because that was were our problem started. For our first off season tournament ever it leaves a really bad impression.
