135 Jason Fitzenreider, Wheaton North 7-3 over Drake Rossi, Lincolnway East. Fitzenreider was the outstanding wrestler in the lower weights. 130 was a tough weight with Steve Gladhill, Sterling who came in at 23-0 finishing 4th.
140 Clint Arlis, Batavia 11-5 over Jeff Abney, Romeoville
145 Jake Mango, Sterling 5-2 over Matt Redmond, Wheaton North who lost twice in two days.
152 Brenton Valentine, Morris 8-6 over Tim Connolly, Wheaton North
160 Rory Compton, Buffalo Grove 10-2 over Greg Schroeder, Batavia.
171 John Dergo, Morris 6-4 OT over Rick Loera, Maine South. The match of the day. Loera neutralized Dergo, but Loera shot a weak takedown in overtime to give Dergo an easy two points and the victory. Dergo was the outstanding wrestler in the upper weights.
189 Brandon Valentine, Morris pinned Chris O'Connell, Batavia in 1:04. The headlocker struck again.
215 R.J. Oliver, Maine South won by injury default over Kevin McFarland, Batavia who was injured in the semis by an illegal slam by Joe Long of Lemont.
275 John Bentch, Downers Grove North fall over Dominick Angeloni, Romeoville, 1:50

Mark Lukaszweski, Bartlett was injured in the quarter finals and was forced to withdraw from the meet. He finished the match and remains undefeated.

You wrote that Redmond lost twice in two days. Who beat him and what score? The only guys in conference that good are Isaacson and Lee.

I went to the Finals at Batavia. Spoke with a WNHS coach who said
Redmond lost to Lee in OT at the WNHS-West Aurora dual meet on Friday night. Been a tough 3 days for their team with Glenbard North on Thursday, West Aurora Friday, and Batavia tourney today. Also heard the Lukazewski(sp?) of Bartlett broke his ribs in quarterfinal match and defaulted rest of his matches.

Redmond lost to Engwall at the Dvorak. His losses Friday night to Matt Lee and Saturday to Mango were both close matches.
With teams from 11 conferences spread across northern Illinois, some of the seeding is based on percentage wins. 135 was so tough with multiple state qualifiers, that Jason Fitzenreider, the Outstanding Wrestler at the lower weights was seeded fourth. Steve Gladhill of Sterling came in with a 23-0 record and ended up 4th.
