I also just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Danny Burk, I wrestle 174lbs at NIU. I also went to Peoria Notre Dame and was coached by my father, who has been my coach my whole life. In high school I only qualified for state twice, my Soph and Sr years. My Sr year I placed 6th at 152lbs. Other than that my high school accomplishments are not too fantastic.

This is my 4th year at NIU. I redshirted my first year, so I have one more, after this year. Ive been in the starting lineup pretty much since my Redshirt Freshman year, with the exception of a few matches. I was 3rd in the MAC conference at 174 last yr, and hope to build upon that this season and get to the next level.

As Duke said we have been working out pretty much since school started. It has become a routine for me the past 3 years, so I am pretty used to the waking up early and getting things accomplished. It is great to have Duke in the room with me because it allows me to always drill and workout with someone I am real comfortable with. And, its just nice having him around more and being able to relax and spend time with family. Work out wise things seem to be going well. We are going to have a real nice team this year, and hope to kind of make a push into the top 15 Nationally and go from there. But, our #1 goal remains the same, and that is to knock off CMU for the conference title. As an older member of the team, I kind of take it as a challenge to be the first ones to win the MAC title outright. Im not real vocal, but I try my best to lead by example. We are going to be young, but good.

I wanna thank Michael Bare for allowing us to do this, and thank you guys for taking time to read about our lives. Send us feedback and any questions. Also, send food if you want...Duke needs to gain some weight. Anyway, take care, and Ill check back in a few days.

I would like to say that I am intrested in followinf your trials and tribulations throughout the year guys. Being from a wrestling family myself, I agree with you 100% on the having your brother in the room with you. It makes each one work a lil harder, bragging rights in the family persay. Good luck and I will stay tuned
