What a tournament, the depth each team had in the championship bracket is down right scarey. Carl Sandburg was clearly the best team, hats off to the Wisconsin Rapids on pulling off the big upset. Even though CS did not have its full starting lineup the Rapids proved they can wrestle with the best in the country. Expect some big National rankings changes to come with Owatonna & Sandburg moving into the top 10 in the country.
It appears the the torch may be passing in Minnisota & Illinois. Apple Valley may have to make room for Owatonna, and Providence may have to make room for Sandburg. The Clash has gained in strength each year as a National level tournament. Hopefully it continues to grow thanks to a great tournametn staff.
How many teams will be attending again next year? Will Sandburg be back to defend it's National Title?
Congratulations to everyone who competed, coached and helped run the Clash. Looking forward to another great tournament next year.

You can see the committed field for Clash IV at:
http://www.clashmn.org/teams.htm
The following teams are verbally committed to attend, but we have not received their contract as of yet:
Mount Carmel, IL
Connelsville, PA
Sunnyside AZ,
Parkersburg South, WV
Mountain Home, ID,
Houston-Westside, TX
Sedro-Wolley, WA
Included in the contracted list, are Jackson Memorial (the best public school in New Jersey), Midwest City OK (3rd in Class 5A) and Flathead HS, Kalispell, MT (2nd in 2A) along with the usual cast and crew of the Clash including Carl Sandburg and Glenbard North. Should be fun.

The Clash is still looking for one more team. If your squad would like to join Glenbard North, Carl Sandburg, and Mt Carmel in this great event, drop me a note at TheClash@matmen.org or visit our website at www.ClashMN.org (http://www.ClashMN.org)

The last team is finally locked and loaded. It will be Ponca City, Oklahoma. Class 5A state champs the last 3 years in a row. They will be joining Midwest City, OK who are ranked #2 in the same class in OK. Midwest City has something like 15 state titles in the last 30 years for Oklahoma's largest schools. Sandburg and Glenbard North should provide a great comparision between Oklahoma wrestling and Illinois wrestling.

Glenbard North beat Midwest City the last time they were at the Clash. They are a tough Oklahoma dual team, glad they are making the trip back.
