I just compared the Wrestling Report's newest NCAA Div I ranking with schools that, as best I can determine, will wrestle at Midlands. For some reason I thought that Midlands was slowly getting weaker. I was surprised to see how many ranked wrestlers will be there. Not only do finals, semi-finals, and quarter finals have the potential to have top-notch match-ups, but even some early, round-of-16 matches might have two top-30 wrestlers. All things considered, great competition. Furthermore, some very good non-Div I college wrestlers will also be there, as well as a handful of post-collegians.
I've excluded Kyle Ott, as I don't think he'll compete until January.
Please let me know if I've made any mistakes. Thanks.

Some of your rankings are a little crazy, next time just take them all from the current rankings which were recently posted on themat.com instead of putting up a wrestlers best ranking in the past year from some hick web site.

On a seperate more friendly note, i am very excited to see alot of the matchups. especially herbert and perry, id have to pick herbert because i think he is just that good. Also see if Alex teripelle can comeout on top of that weight, he will have a few tough matches with Johnston and paulson. You also forgot a few out of college wrestlers who i think will be there this year, Azevedo for one im pretty sure will be making another appearance, and maybe joe williams although he has some legal trouble to attend to... (LOL)

Thanks for the response... I think. I'm not sure if you are being cute or dense.

I did not forget post-collegians.. reread the preface. But they don't appear in college rankings, which is what my post was about.

These are not my rankings. I got them from the www.wrestlingreport.com (http://www.wrestlingreport.com) . Hick site? Hardly. If anything, the opposite. In looking at rankings the last few years I've mostly felt that those on the wrestling report are as good, if not better, than all the others. Furthermore, they rank the top 30 (most others do 20), which means 50% more material.

Looks like you can pencil in Chris Fleeger for Midlands. I've done that above.

Here's the link to the article on Purdue that states the Fleeger will be eligible for the end of December. http://www.purdueexponent.org/index.php/module/Issue/action/Article/article_id/2239

Congrats to Mr. Fleeger for getting his academic house in order.
