If you to make a team with the state champs of AA and A and faced them off AA would KILL single A and most likely SHUT THEM OUT. Single is weaker then AA that's why they have only ONE A.

Single A is not weak... They have some top notched teams and wrestlers.. Remember Single 'A' is generally much smaller schools... Montini is the the King of 'A'..
Since most single A schools have less students then they also have less kids to draw from to form teams. But when you build a solid room, like Montini has, then it really doesn't matter how many A's you have. I mean Benefield beat White, Mucha beat Sands (last year) so i think the idea of the A v. AA meet being a shut out is just the voice of an uneducated fan.

Jerry Starzyk is very underrated because he is at Tinley Park. If he was still at ST. Rita he would be ranked. I saw him at Palatine Tournament and he totally dominated. While Thomas Gagan received OW, many thought it should have gone to Starzyk.

I don't think "weaker" is the word for single A wrestling. Being smaller schools, single A schools don't always have the wrestling clubs and solid jr. high teams to draw out of. AA schools in the bigger towns and cities get kids from a wider range of area (denser in population), so A schools who have 300 kids naturally aren't going to get the 50-60+ interested wrestlers for the program. On an individual basis, A wrestlers should be able to go toe to toe with AA, but as a team, they usually lack the depth and numbers to be competitive.

Now if my memory serves me correct, didn't montini beat St. Rita last year in a dual meet. Now St. Rita was AA champ last year and Montini was the A champ. Well what does that say about A if their champ beat AA's champ. Oh yeah and on a side note Starzyck will be on the podium downstate! I gurantee you that!
