Mount Carmel, ranked 21st in the country by WrestlingUSA Magazine, captured the Ohio Midwest Classic 24 team wrestling tournament with points. The Caravan, who in fifteen years have never won the Midwest Classic, placed six wrestlers in the finals, had eight placers and ten in the championship pool. University of Nebraska-Omaha recruit Mario Morgan (125) had three pins and captured Mount Carmel's lone title with a 3-1 victory over DeAngelo Bynum of MacEachern, Ga. In the semi-finals Morgan, ranked 18th at 125 by InterMat Wrestling, came from behind pinning nationally ranked Grant Lowether of Trinity, Pa with 9.9 seconds left in the third period.

B J Futrell (103), Robert Barbour (140), Darrick Hardy (160), Christian Brantley (215), and Tim Lambert (275) finished second.

I hate to sound nit-picky, however Mt. Carmel captured first place in the Columbus tournament in 1995; thier first time wrestling in the tournament.
