You sure about your finals match results. First off Dundee Crown is not in the SPC. And do you know who Long 215 beat. I heard Batavia won it all. Will Matmen be posting brackets. and does anyone know the score of the Oconnel Valentine match. I told you Valentine pinning Oconnell was a fluke. He just a lucky hiptoss and stuck him. Congrats to Oconnell on the win hope u win state. neways if anyone else has updates post em.....and neone with brackets post em ..PLEASE......o and surpirse at heavyweight with Sidall from Oswego taking second even though i heard he took 1st but either way Harbin had to lost to either Sidall or Cook of minooka which to me is an upset.

Harbin lost to oswego in the semifinals, totall upsett. and it was the glenbard south kid who took 2nd at 103. Batavia won the tournament. I dont remember who long beat, but 215 was really weak, really weak. Almost as weak as 189 was last year, when long won it. O'Connell killed valantine. The score was like 11 to 3 or something close to that.

I know Oconnell beat Valentine. The score WAS 11-3 but i heard Valentine got kicked out of the match. So i was wondering what the deal was with that. Also what was the score of the Harbin Sidall match at heavyweight in the semis than. Thanks

Thanks,

What exactly did Valentine do, did he throw a punch or swear at the ref or something?

From the article it sounds like he was dq'd on penalties. He already had 3 stallings it said, so maybe it was penalties?

To clarify the Valentine situation. No punches, no swearing! Valentine kept getting called for stalling on the bottom, while O'Connel was riding the hips the entire time. Now, Occonell really wasn't doing anything on top (except avoiding the reach back headlock).

Towards the end of the third period Valentine got called for his fourth Stalling (2pts). After the Match They shaked hands, as Valentin was walking off the mat towards his coach he said "he was riding my ankle" (referring to the stalling calls) The ref awarded another penalty point, which DQ'd Valentine from the match. However, the Penalty was awarded after the match was over (it all seemed quite bizarre to me!!)

Harbin lost the semi final match to Oswego. Tried a takedown with 10 seconds to go in first period and got caught so it was 2-0, he reversed in the second making it 2-2. In the third he rode the whole time until 20 seconds to go tried a butcher to the head that the Oswego kid slipped out of and escaped, 3-2. Final shot with 10 seconds to go that the oswego kid blocked and switched (I am not sure he gave him 2 or not, but could have) Regardless, a poorly wrestled match by Harbin- hopefully he got it out of the way before regionals.

The final unsportsmanlike conduct penalty was incorrectly assessed during the match, but the officials caught it at the table, which is still allowable and determined that the match should have ended as a disqualification. Valentine still received his second place medal and earned second place points.
