103 Johnson (Bloomington) over Clark (Orion)
112 Peterson (Oregon) over Zurcher (Orion)
119 Ryan (Mac) over
125 Decap, Hollowell and Hill will make it an interesting wt. class. Hill (Roxana)over Decap (Riverdale
130 Loy (Riverdale) over Warlop (Alleman)
135 Gosa, Milks, Schwarz, Jones, Jo-E and of course Robbins. It will be Robbins (Bloomington) over Milks (Dakota)
140 Calvin (Roxana) over Olson (Dakota) don't count out Hinzman (Alleman)!
145 Another stacked weight class. Still confused as to who will be here from Alleman. Lind or Pieritz. Either or should take this class. Brady (Harvard), Kindelsperger (Riverdale), Olson (Dakota), Kimberlain (Mac) makes this an exciting class
152 See above...which Alleman stud will be here? Either or should take this class. Vickers of Coal City will be in the mix
160 Bauer (Oregon)? Where is this boy at? Murphy is my fav to win (Wilmington) over Gatten of (Mac)
171 Wenger (Dakota) over Kaufman (Oly)
189 Winterhalter (Dakota) over Schultz (Harvard)
215 Rematch of the Semis of State last year. I've said it before, a flip of the coin...any one of them can win on any given day. Finals of the PIT will go to Haeflinger (Harvard) over Vercelli (Wilmington)
275 Preview of the state finals...lets hope...Cooper (Clinton) over White (Pittsfield)

Team wise, it will be whoever wins the wrestleback rounds. Harvard is is a good wrestleback team, Bloomington is too tough and Dakota is a powerhouse. Bloomington, Dakota, Harvard, Alleman are your top 4. My personal opinion: Take out the AA teams, make this a powerful A tourney.

See everybody down there! I'll be wearing a Illinois Matmen hoodie with Flashy on the back!

Flashy, I thought Chuck P. from Alleman is a certified 152 lber, And I'll take a long shot at 145 in the kid from Vandalia, (state placer and 2nd last year and don't look past Hale from Bloomington) And I am 90 percent sure Calvin won't be there as well as the rest of teammates.

Why won't Roxana be there??? They are listed on Princetons website as being a 2005 entry...hmm.. Not sure whats going on in Alleman with their middle weights. Thats why I said I didn't know whos will be where.

I will use Flashy's list to form my list. We agree on much but my differences are more accurate than his. That will certainly get a rebuttal from him, I'm sure!!!!

103 Johnson (Bloomington)
112 Peterson (Oregon)
119 Ryan (Mac)
125 DeCap (Riverdale) even if Hill is there
130 Davito (CC) - long shot but I want an I-8 guy in there
135 Robbins (Bloomington) - everyone else can stay home
140 Olson (Dakota)
145 Cox (Vandalia)
152 Pieritz (Alleman) if Bauer goes 160
160 Bauer (Oregon) if he goes 160 - otherwise, Murphy (Wilmington)
171 Wenger (Dakota) - same comment I used with Robbins
189 Winterhalter (Dakota)
215 Vercelli (Wilmington) IF he has had enough mat time from his injury - otherwise, Haeflinger (Harvard)
275 White (Pittsfield)

I agree with Flashy about getting the AA guys out and make this the premier Class A tournament. Stillman Valley could be added and possibly a Prairie Central (even though their tourney is the same day) or Sterling Newman. Then again, they don't have to have 20+ teams to make this a great tourney, either. I think the tournament should be careful about adding Big Northern teams and I-8 teams because the conference schools see each other often in other tournaments, conference duals, and then their conference tournaments. In addition, both of these conferences even see each other in the regionals so I like the idea of new blood if possible because they're sick of seeing each other so often. Montini would make this tourney THE ultimate tournament but leave them to their AA tournaments like the Dvorak. That may be better suited for their needs anyway.

I posted these on the Locks board a few weeks ago. I stated then that i'm not very good with predictions...but I like yours a lot better than mine. (cept for 215) LOL. I'm still waiting to hear whats going on from the Alleman camp to see where Pieritz will be at. IF the rumors are true and he's at 145, he will give Cox a run for his money!! See ya there!

Which AA teams compete at the PIT?? Just curious. If any want out and are looking for a AA tourney the same weekend, Geneva HS is looking to add a couple teams for next year.

Bloomington, Prairie Ridge...umm...those are the only ones that come to head right now. Dinner time, after that i'll check their site for the official list. I'm still curious as to why Roxana MIGHT not make it....

Roxana already wrestled in the CM Inv. Mascoutah Inv, and Granite City Inv. and will wrestle in the Litchfield Tourn. That is 4, are you allowed to wrestle in more?

What are the start times of this tourney?

IHSA rules state that you are only allowed to wrestle in 4 individual tournaments in a season if you are planning on wrestling in the state series. I am not sure if team tournaments count for this or not, but the first part I know is true.

Flashy good predictions except you are leaving Harbin out at heavy. Believe he is 20 and 1 and has wrestled at least three top 10 AA teams in that record.

Doc,

Correct if I'm wrong but the Harbin I am thinking of wrestles for AA Yorkville. Is there another Harbin wrestling that I don't know about?

I don't doubt that Winterhalter will win here, but don't be surprised if Schultz is not in the Finals and Ladd from IVC is.
