Tannenbaum took him down twice and got reversed in OT to loose by one point.

Tirapelli got through the entire tournament without scoring a single takedown, it was pathetic. I would rather slit my throat then watch Troy stall his way to victory and take injury time every minute ever again. Ill probably post my thoughts on the tournament a lil later.

Achilles, please feel free to slit your throat (your suggestion) rather than post your uninformed drivel (nicest thing I can come up with).

Troy Tirapelle had a spectacular tournament. Truly gutsy! You are right, he did not score a takedown-- why don't you look at his opponents! Two of the guys he wrestled were ALL-AMERICANS last year, and the other, Ty Turner, has had a great year. That Troy lost the take-down battle implied that the matches were boring? No, it means that the opponents were better at wrestling from neutral.

Where Troy won was with mat wrestling. He is spectacular on top, was turning Ty Eustice (when Eustice screamed in pain, ref stopped it, thus 2 pts NF-- I doubt that anyone has gotten back points on Eustice in three years), and Troy rode Schlatter for almost the entire third period. Troy beat Turner by clamping on a far-side cradle and rolling over Turner in a gutsy suicide-cradle move-- boring wrestling? I don't know what planet you're from. It looked like a case of "taking a big risk" to me.

From bottom position, Troy immediately escaped/reversed all three of the guys he beat. Only Schlatter was able to dominate Troy when Troy was down.

Keep in mind that during their finals matches that seniors Alex T., Friedl, and Ott did not fare any better from botton and than Troy, and these, three plus Byrd, could not score a takedown in their finals matches. I would cut Troy a little slack and give him his due: simply put, he beat three outstanding wrestlers.

And by the way, Tannenbaum wrestled back, beating two outstanding wrestlers (Withstandley & McKnight), before losing to Eustice in overtime.

Eustice got screwed there, he posted on the mat and the reff thought he was tapping. He thought it was a joke, as did I becasue just like in the match before where troy was stalling every time he went out of bounds to catch his breath. It wasn't that he wrestled better on the mat then his opponents it was however that he stalled his way to the third period and created opportunities for himself. But making him self look like an idiot was uncalled for, i think Troy was more suprised about winning those matches than anybody else in the arena. And it wasn't that it was boring wrestling, the matches were actually exciting as his opponents were scoring takedowns on him and physically wearing him down (even though he was taking 10-15 seconds at every break), it was that i cant stand seeing ppl win doing that, at times i like freestyle wrestling better because there is no way you can win by not doing anything in freestyle.
