I think it for sure will come down to Riverdale and Alleman with the top scores. Riverdale outscored Alleman by quite a bit in Princeton, then Alleman scored higher in Orion. We'll see.

Part of the reason Alleman didn't score more points at the Princeton tourney is because they were missing TWO of their wrestlers.

i for got 119 will be a bear 1 taylor princton 2 could be hayes or vandusen but any one of those three could win it. if hayes wrestles like i have seen him wrestle through out the year tough as nails he could win at orion i think he was fighting of the flu bug that hit the team .

Jaydirkshat,
I don't know if the schematics for sectionals are already known but you have Young vs. Winterhalter in the sectional championship. Are you forgetting Norberg or are you assuming one of these beats him? I'm not sure that is going to happen.

your right i totaly forgot about clayton but i hopeing that young will be on the opisit side of the bracket as those two if not i would like to see young and whinterhalter wrestle this year the meet between e/p and dakota was canceled because of the weather .

Don't rule out Josh Moshier of Riverdale at 103, not to win, but maybe to figure in.

Are Erie and Newman in the same regional? If they are they would obviously meet in regionals so for sectionals 2 and 3 go on the opposite side of the bracket from #1 finisher, meaning Young and Norberg would be on opposite sides for sectionals unless they go 2nd and 3rd but my guess is they will go 1-2. Obviously unless schematics are out there, who knows which side Winterhalter will go on. I'd like to see the match also, I think Winterhalter beats Young but who knows.

No - Newman is hosting it's own Regional ... Erie-Prophetstown is at Riverdale Regional. Without a doubt - 189 is a TOUGH weight in northern Illinois! Enny-Meeny-Miny-Mo!
GOOD LUCK to ALL wrestlers in the State Series! Wish I could see you ALL at ChamBana! You guys just amaze me!!!!
Here's to good clean wrestling - and NO injuries!!!!!

I believe these are the teams at Riverdale tomorrow:
Erie (Coop)
Kewanee (H.S.)
Mendota
Port Byron (Riverdale)
Princeton
Rock Island (Alleman)
Spring Valley (Hall)

I would have to say that IF the schematics come out with Winterhaulter and Norberg on oppisite sides, Norberg will go one, Winterhaulter will go two, and the third place match will be decided whether Young can come back mentally and finish up strong. You have to remember Noreberg beat Winterhaulter last year and is in his senior year, and will pull out all the stops to finish as a two time state champ. While he did lose to Wenger from Dakota towards the end of the year, Wenger is a freak of nature, he is so strong, smooth, and such a smart wrestler. He will definaltley be a three time state champ.

No Barlow did not get ejected. I think people are confusing the Rock island schools. Rock Island had a wrestler ejected. Their 189 pounder Alex Stickel was ejected and will not be able to wrestle in Regionals. Barlow is good to go!
