With Bloomington losing alot of their seniors who do you think will come out on top as a team during the tournament? I think it will be a close one between Champaign Central and Normal Community. What about single champs? My predictions are:
103- Winland
112- Cogdon(?) Centennial Kid
119- Ingersol
125- Seets
130- Diego-Juan
135- Bryson
140- Kulzynski
145- ?
152- Duitsman
160- Marmion
171- Kull
189- ?
215- ?
275- WIDE OPEN

I can agree with alot but let me help out here 71 will go to Vandermae Kirkem and 89 goes to Kull. I thin Musick wins 15 and I agree heavy is wide open. After being there at Community I know alot of the talent but im not there any more. I think if Normal can fill the loss of Esparza and Kontio they will win.

I think it will be an exciting tournament. What weight will you be wrestling at IRNMEN? If you are a wrestler and not a parent/coach. I think we'll have about state qualifiers from the big 12.(Ingersol,Kull,Seets,Winland,Bryson, and Diego Juan) what do you think?

Ill be at somwhere between 45-71 probally 52. I think this area has a lot of good talent and Im shure one of them will show up to state before 08. Even though I dont know if im wrestling at Bloomington or at NCHS.

You say you don't know if you will be wrestling at Bloomington or NCHS, do you not know if you are moving or what is the deal. I know it is none of my business just wondering if you are someone that can come in and make an impact for either team. I know Lehr of Bloomington should be around 152 or 160. Good luck to you wherever you go.
Yeah here in B/N the towns have a weird system and well obviously im moving its like boderline BHS/NCHS, since half the block goes to BHS and the other half goes to NCHS. I can have a dcent impact, my impact is much more at Normal then at Bloomington. I a guy who is a team orienteted, I have improved so I would say that my impact is between big and average. If im at Normal it depends on my weight if im a high JV or Varsity. I probally would be a higher up JV and know I wont beat out Jake. I think it will be Normal though.

Good luck to you. You are right the borders for the school districts are all over the place. More kids with Bloomington address' go to Normal schools than kids with Normal address'.

Here my prediction pretty much the same except for a few things.
103- Winland
112- Cogdon(?) Centennial Kid
119- Ingersol
125- Seets
130- Diego-Juan
135- Bryson
140- Kulzynski
145- Turner
152- Duitsman
160- Lehr
171- Vandermae Kirkem
189- Kull
215- Musick
275- Elam
I bet a lot of Normal kids place like last year and Bloomington will have a few, but I think the Big 12 will really be solved when we see the B/N intercity. I think the Ironmen of NCHS will overcome that long lasting purple reign, but I wont doubt BHS. I remember last year NCHS made it real close for BHS on 3 occasions.

He just lost to Hale last year, he is at NCHS, Also was in the weight room all summer long thats what got him to 71. Would have won the Big 12 and the Regionals if Justin wasnt holding him back. I think his only loses were to Hale in the reg season. I belive he will win. I can give you more info if you want.

I think Marmion had a losing record last season and Seets 50-50ish.

08-29-2006, 05:55 PM
Seets was like 24-14 last year and has gotten a TON better over the summer as did marmion. At the illinois team camp I was told that he went 13-1 and pinned the majority of his opponents and Marmion won the majority of his matches also. Seets will make some noise this year. Hes a two time sectional qualifier

OK, I just didn't remember those two doing a whole lot last season. You generally have to be tough to win Big 12 titles. Quite a few state qualifiers last season.

08-29-2006, 09:35 PM
Yeah if anyone saw the Mt. Zion regional you'd remember Seets' match with Dustin Frandle from Rantoul. I think outta the big 12 our state qualifiers will be: Winland,Ingersoll,Seets,Diego-Juan,Bryson,and Lehr

Best Bet qualifiers... Winland, Ingersol, Kull.
Possible... Diego Juan, Bryson, Lehr, Duitsman, Vandermay-Kirkem, Turner, Remlinger, Seets.
I'm sure some others that I am missing... too early to tell, should know by late december. We will see who was putting in their time in the Spring/Summer & incoming Freshman. Our sectional could be stacked at some talented Big 12 kids weights... can't just assume.
Last year you could with some guys who were already proven in the Big 12 and beyond...it should be an interesting year with some newcomers.

Does anyone know what some of our big 12 stars are weighing now a days?? Locally I've talked to Diego-Juan who says hes pushing 150,Seets is around 140, Ingersol is like 120 anyone know anyone else??

To add to the possibles I know Willet and Troemel could also go to state from Normal, The Turners if they accually wrestle they could also.

Yea Seets pinned Willet last year at big 12 in about 40 seconds so if he makes it to state then seets definately will :)

Obviously you did not see him in regionals, that was the real Alex, he got 3rd, also did decent in sectionals, one match does not mean anything. I never said he would be a qualifier either.

Yes he did you can look at you guys' results or if you have a stat book, he beat esparza like 9 to 5 and trust me its true because I have the stats right in front of me. As a matter of fact I was there, Esparza was up and seets ankle picked him to his back for 5. Nice try though

Corey Esparza never wrestled at 130, I think I know my team of last year a little better, he probally wrestled Veracruz because Casey was at 30 sometimes. If you got the names from NCHS let me tell you how many time Baeten confused the 2.

Was this last year? Because I have the sheets from last year he never wrestled above 25. Yeah I know Corey and Casey look nothing alike but coach seemed to confuse them. If it wasnt last year then I can belive you but I saw every match and was at everone also.

this year we will have some really good freshman coming in. not the best but they r good. Tanner and monson are 2 that i can think of off the bat... i know that ther r other but they r not ringing a bell atm. im not going to say that our team will be the best or exceptional by any means. your right alot of people on the team r lazy. but there r some that will stand out above the rest on the team. 103 tanner will be one, 112 mcgregor looks to be promising, 119 monson i thin will be in and out, 125 weaver, 130 hutchenson looks much more interested in this year than the last, 135 eaton he has to work hard (dad is coach), 135-140 will be will be delp he only tries when he wants though, 145-152 mcginnis havent checked with him yet so he may be a bit heavier, 152-171 ross i really think it will be a good year for him (last year he was outof luck, he broke his hand), around 171- 189 i think will be flex i also have to check with him but he will be around there (he also had a bad last year, messed up his knee... again), our heavy weights dont look too promising we lost hafley so i think we r out of a heavy weight. this in not final i will update when i can

I dont see many freshman having impacts, expecially Tanner who got to face at least Winland. McGregor I believe is at Normal Community. Yet again he's a freshman and dont see most of these guy going out pounding the big 12, I dont see them comparing well to the power houses in our conferance. Eaton from what I hear is only varsity because of his dad being the coach, Wasnt Buddy almost over at regionals he probally looking 60 or 71 and at 71, he should probally shoot for 60 since 71 will be strong(@ intercity W/V-Kirk, Woropey, and probally Stover or Reilly). Im not familuar wit Ross so who knows. No offense, but you got some guys thats sound alright but I personally dont see them topping the teams like Comm, BLM, and Cen.

you are absolutly right. i dont see us on the top at all. but i do believe that this will be one of our better years compared to what we have had in the past. tanner is a good wrestler but i didnt say the best. as for mcgregor i was going off of what i saw from last year and off of the roster that was posted for this year..... really havent seen him around. and as for eaton...... well lets just say decent but there are better. his dad does lean to him to be varsity but that is not saying that ther was anyone better at 119 last year. ya buddy was almost over at regionals but he always seems a way to bounce back to a lower weight. flex said he is at 189 btw and ross said he wants to go 171 but i think he will go 60 then that would leave matt repplinger at 171. buddy i will have to talk to. just to get someone elses thought... who in your opinion will be ncwhs's strongest wrestler?
IRNMN
09-27-2006, 07:01 PM
I know you wanted someones elses thoughts but ill say Buddy will have the best because if he's at 52 or 60 its kinda weak there. Eh was Ross at 60 last year?
