I know about Palatine's at Fremd.

Crystal Lake Wizards are hosting a tourney this sunday, they are usually very competitive.

My cousin is going to the West Chicago Eight Legged Thriller.

Good tournament? Well run?

After this past weekend at Proviso we are a bit more cautious.

We are going to Palatine. 6-man round robin and IKWF weights for the older guys. 1-1-1 periods. It should probably be a good one.

how do you do a six man round robin? Just wondering, never have heard of one before. Each kid wrestles 5 times?

The C.L. Wizards have been using 6 man round robin for several years now. You wrestle each of the 5 other guys in your bracket.

The added thing they do is use a "bad Mark" format (at least I think they still do). You are "bad marked" for anything less than a pin in each of your matches, with the lightest "penaly" for teching your opponent, to the largest penalty if you get pinned. At the end of the day, the guy with the fewest "bad marks" takes 1st place (you can lose a match & still take 1st).

Bad mark scoring lets you wrestle in a tournament setting, but it prepares you for the "team mentality" needed in H.S. duel meet wrestling.
