Is there a way that next year the IKWF and Bill Gossett can get their dates on different days. There are quite a few IL. kids that can not attend Liberty Nationals this year, that have every year until now. I know my son would like to be able to wrestle both and not have to choose one or the other.

The IKWF State is on the same weekend every year so I would say ask Bill to move the date for the Liberty Nationals because I don't see the IKWF board moving a State Series to a different date for some open tournament called and labeled Nationals. There are what 20 or more Nationals now hosted by 4 different organizations, AAU, USAW, NWCF (I forget the call letters for this one) and Roller. I guess we could rename the KIDS OPEN to ILLINOIS KIDS WRESTLING FEDERATION NATIONAL KIDS OPEN. :)

I think the idea of asking the IKWF Board to move the IKWF State Series date to accomodate the Liberty National is ridiculous. The Liberty National is a fine tournament but, it's not your home state tournament.
Like Nic9er says...pick one of the other 10 "national tournaments" out there and go to one of them.
This is a good subject tho... 'National Tournaments'.
My short list of "National" tournaments that are worth your time and money:
1. Tulsa National(Folkstyle)-Toughest kids national in the country.
2. USA Wrestling Kids/Cadets Folkstyle National-Just behind the Tulsa National.
3. USA Wrestling Kids Freestyle/Greco National-Toughest FS/GC in the country. At this time of year the real "die-hards" are wrestling.
4. Ohio Tournament of Champions(the April event)-Big number of PA and OH kids for this one.
