Big Eleven 14 Nov 2006 Tournament “Standings”
I used Gregg Henry’s Big Eleven ranking of Nov 14 http://www.bigelevenwrestling.net/rankings/index.html (http://www.bigelevenwrestling.net/rankings/index.html) and applied standard tournament placement points of 16, 12, 10, 9, 7, 6, 4, 3 to produce a “tournament team standings.” I’m struck by four things: (1) with five teams within 10 points, this looks like an incredibly balanced year, at least at the top of the Big Ten; (2) I’m surprised by how competitive Indiana appears to be; (3) I can’t help but feel that Illinois will end up doing considerably better than 10th; and (4) wow, Purdue is weak!
Caveat: I did NOT double check tallies or addition.
