The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville wrestling team competed in the Mizzou Open at the University of Missouri over the weekend. Rashad Riley (Hoffman Estates) placed second in the 133-pound freshman/sophomore division. Riley went 3-1 in the tournament with his lone loss coming in the title match against Illinois' Jimmy Kennedy. Nathan Decker (Sedro Woolley, Wash.) placed sixth for the Cougars in the 141-pound freshman/sophomore division and posted a record of 3-3.
John Ficht (Burbank, Ill./Reavis H.S.) placed sixth among the 165 pound wrestlers in the open division. Several other wrestlers were a match away from medaling. Coach Whelan and staff have the Cougar wrestling program headed the right direction.

My understanding that Riley is considered a sophomore from an eligibility standpoint.
