Dakota. If you put the lineups that Dakota and Montini used in regional against each other, Dakota would have 4 certain wins (D. Olsen, Graybill, M. Wenger and Stack) and 2 very likely wins (Alber and Milks). If Winterhalter beats Mucha and Nicholas beats Goebel, and assuming some balance in the number of pins, Dakota could win. But the lineups will certainly be shuffled a bit, so who knows? I don't think you can put any other Class A lineup against Montini and win.

I agree that Dakota is the only Class A team that MIGHT beat Montini. Your rationale is right on the button. Heck, the I-8 All-Conference First Team would not beat Montini because of their superior lower weights. Then again, being cynical, the I-8 team would be wrestling an all-star team, too.

P.S. Anyone else notice the new guys in Montini's line-up for regionals? What is that all about? Did they just become eligible or win wrestle-offs?

When I read the IHSA regional results, there were a couple of upper weight guys I didn't recognize. I think the 275 was new and the 152 guy. Not sure. Maybe it was the 171.

I was comparing the regional lineups and D. Olsen went 145 in regionals.

The heavyweight is not new, he wrestled most of the season last year when there regular went down. Heard there new heavy was ineligible but do not know if he got in trouble or what. The 160 is a four year kid, just coming back from an injury. He's Jim DiDi's kid. No one knows anything about the 171, maybe they brought him in from Iowa or something.
