Everytime I look at this and notice that people want the Dual State Tourny seeded I just shake my head.... Do we really want the IHSA to decide who gets what seed? What if someone becomes impartial... How far is that? Who is to decide if the IHSA's criteria is right or wrong.... I look at like this... We dont want the Fed. Government to invest our money that is going into the social security system, because they have no right to invest that money nor could we ever keep track of a fair way to do it (plus many other reasons)... Now is it fair for the IHSA to decide which teams are better and who should wrestle who based on their (IHSA's) criteria... They will never get a fair, sound system! It just not who I would want to see making the calls, when it comes down to it... I would much rather perfer taking the top 2 regional teams and start the bracket there, but throw in full wrestle backs to 3rd... It will take longer, but this is the only way that a true champion can be crowned, and that is by settling it on the mat!

The ONLY way for these things to be settled is on the mat.:)

Well, I suppose I might as well throw my 2 cents worth in.
It seems to me, the only way to truly crown a champion at the state tournament, would be a round robin kind of deal. Each wrestler wrestles the others. This would be extremely time consuming, and very doubtable that this could ever happen, but only then could you say you have beaten everyone. But, it's not perfect either, relying on one wrestler to go undefeated, and with the state level competition, that is very unlikely; that many matches, that short of an amount of time, and expected to win them all, tough. My other idea would be pool-based. Qualifying wrestlers are divided into 4 pools. Seedings would be based off of these results, therefore, the seedings are impartial, and the brackets come out after seedings are done, and the rest of the tournament is on. if you see any comments, problems with this, I'd like to hear them.
thanx

I agree you can't seed the team or individual tournament. I really don't see what is wrong the regional/sectional thing. Everything can't be perfect. Geez.

Maybe being a sectional or state qualifier is not the most important thing.

If you must talk politics...Our government is already making the decision on how to invest you money for social security. They want to change it so that you could invest it better if you want to. You could keep it the same if you wanted to. I'm 40 yrs. old and would like to have some $ when I get old and the current method ISN'T working!!!!
