GENESEO -- Minooka High School proved once again that is among the area's elite wrestling teams.
Competing in the tough Geneseo Bi-State Tournament on Saturday, the Indians finished second among 16 teams with 192.5 points. Providence was third with 179.5. St. Rita won the title with 205.
The Indians' Brian Bokoski won the 103-pound championship with an 8-4 title-match win over Cedar Rapids Kennedy's Dec Cruse Aarhus. Kevin Bokoski won the 130-pound title, defeating St. Rita's Mike Migawa 3-2 in the finals.
Minooka's Callahan McCarthy won the 285-pound crown with a pin in 3:35 over Leviticus Roberson from Cedar Rapids Kennedy.
Consolation winners for Minooka included Kenny Zabel (145). Nick Bain (135), Joe O'Brien (140), Steve Olin (152, pin), Matt Bannon (160, pin) and Eric Loomis (171, pin) all took fifth.
Providence's Marty Murphy won the 145-pound title and Brian Reynolds won at 160. Finishing second for the Celtics were Jake Wojcik (119) and John Starzyk (125). Mark Augle (130), Jake Beechy (140), Jake Ruettiger (171) and Mike McEntee (215) won consolation titles.
Providence's was Tom Ambrose (103) was fifth.

Lincoln-Way Central wins -- At Normal, Knight wrestlers won six weight classes to help Central post its 11th title in 12 years at the Girardi Invitational.
Tournament MVW Josh Kratovil (112), Justin Farmer (103), Adam Heimer (130), Jake Nelson (135), Nick Shefer (160) and Pete Damiani (171) were winners for Central, which had 260 points and a 91-point edge over second-place Peoria Woodruff. Will Liptak (140) and Joe Mahy (189) won thirds. Steve McCollum (140), Rich Olszewski (152) and Steve Kelly (285) were fifth.
Wilmington wins -- At the Reed-Custer Comet Classic, the Wildcats had five first places and four seconds to win the 16-team tournament title with 256 points. Capturing firsts for Wilmington were John VanDuyne (112 pounds), Steve Heino (130), Vince Vercelli (140), Jake Murphy (145) and Nick Dziuban (215).
Taking seconds for Wilmington were Matt Combes (152), Tom Fritz (160), Marcus Dunkin (215) and Matt Lyday (285). Jeff Goodwin (135) finished fourth.
Reed-Custer, which tied for sixth place, received a second place from Bryan Lenig at 119. Taking third were Zach Begler (112), Jon Eichelberger (103), Matt Pivonka (160) and Mike Ziegler (215).
Lemont 2nd -- At the Batavia Invitational, the Indians were second out of 17 teams with 153 points. Romeoville tied for eighth (87 points), Morris took 11th (79) and Lincoln-East was 12th (76.5).
Winning titles for Lemont were brothers Matt and Ryan Leiborth. Matt won at 112 pounds, Ryan at 152. Gordy Kickels won at 189 for the Indians. Peter DeSimone was second at 103. The Indians beat Bremen 54-15 and downed Argo 53-12 late Friday.
Morris' Brenton Valentine won the 160-pound championship.
Romeoville's Julian Brooks (125) and Jeff Abney (140) were second.
Plainfield South 2nd -- At the Kaneland Tournament, the Cougars were second among 12 teams. Dan Satinsky won at 160 pounds. Chris Saldivar (125), Clayton Westhoff (130) and Aaron Kozenko (171) were second.
Lisle Invitational -- Joliet Catholic Academy's Sean Sheppard won the 189-pound championship and teammate Patrick Kielian won at 215. Kyle Haney was second at 160. JCA finished sixth with 110.5 points. Lisle won with 188.
Finishing fourth for the Hilltoppers were Jason Broderick (103), Shawn Lemke (112), Luke Abanas (119), Zach Lofdahl (125) and Brendan Egan (135).
JT goes 1-2 -- The Steelmen (10-7) beat Downers Grove South 42-26, lost 32-24 to York and dropped a 42-20 decision to West Aurora. A.J. Juarez (103) and Adrian Cerrillo (275) won three matches for JT. Two-match winners were Ron Winchell (112), Mark Johnson (119), George Malone (130), Chad Carlson (160) and Jon Bailey (189).
