New Illinois Matmen Website

First of all, I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Mike Bare, and I am the new owner/webmaster of Illinois Matmen. I am taking over for Jim Moriarty, who founded the website several years ago. Jim has done a superb job of maintaining the site over the years and should be commended for all that he has done for Illinois wrestling. Thanks Jim!

DUAL RESULTS SYSTEM
With a new season and a new website comes new features. I am in the process of creating a dual results system that will allow coaches, wrestlers, and fans to easily submit results directly from the Illinois Matmen website. Once the submission is approved, the results will be immediately visible for all to see. My hope is that coaches will submit their results either the day of or the day after the dual. Hopefully, it will become a habit just like submitting results to the local newspaper. This system will provide a great way for people to keep track of what's going on outside their immediate area. You can demo the system by following the link under High School -> Results in the Main Menu.

WRESTLER PROFILES
I'm also thinking about adding wrestler profiles for ranked wrestlers. We could put together a list of questions such as "who is your favorite wrestler" and ask the ranked wrestlers to submit answers to these questions. What do you guys think about that idea? If you like the idea, what would you like to know about our state's best wrestlers?

As always, this site wouldn't be possible without your support. A donations link has been added to the upper right hand corner of the home page. If you visit Illinois Matmen often and consider it a valuable resource, please consider donating. Your donations will be used to help cover hosting costs, software costs, and all the time that is required to keep this site up to date. As for advertising, Jim stated that all contracts have expired, so I have removed all of the current sponsors from the top of the page. New advertising rates have been posted.
