Freestyle/Greco-Roman Schedule Announced

The preliminary 2006 Illinois/USA Wrestling Freestyle/Greco-Roman schedule has been posted at www.ilusaw.com. We have sent a mass mailing to 397 member IHSA schools looking for developmental dates in March, April, and May. If you are interested in hosting a developmental, please contact Chauncey Carrick at sycamore_wrestling@hotmail.com.

USA Wrestling membership applications for FS/GR are also available at the above website. We highly recommend you get your USA Wrestling membership card before the developmentals, divisionals, or State tournaments.

USA Wrestling has changed the qualifying procedure for Cadets to the National Championships in Fargo, ND. Cadets can now wrestle in any of the Cadet Regional Championships and, if you place in the top three, you become a automatic qualifier to the National Championships. Go to www.themat.com for information on Cadet Regional Championships dates and locations. Illinois wrestlers must still qualify through IL/USAW FS and GR State Tournaments for the Northern Plains Cadet Regional Championships.
