There were quite a few kids from Southern Illinois at this tournament. Does anyone have the results?

4 from collinsville 2 from edwardsville at least one from granite and 1 from o'fallon #? from mascoutah
E-Ville: I think both Lunn's placed. Bret got 1st C-Ville: Springer 1st and Straub got 3rd Straub got 3rd after having to wrestle 3 of the last four matches of he tournament. The last two back to back and all 3 matches lasted all three periods. The matches in his bracket were all running long and after all other mats were put away and all the refs and other tourney workers went home this one bracket had 7 or so matches left. This was one of the best efforts I've ever witnessed from any wrestler. Amazing!!! G-city: ? O'Fallon: ? This was the best pre season tournament I've ever attended. Didn't start until 10:15 am Straub's last match ended at 7:00 pm Anyone going to the national event? Its on nov. 4-5 so I'm not sure Illinois High School wrestlers can go. |

Don't know when the start date for IHSA wrestling is. Is it nov. 1st? Does IHSA allow non-IHSA wrestling during the school season..I don't know.
We have decided not to go. It will turn into a 3-4 day trip and lots of $$$. We are betting that most kids in my sons weight won't go but only kids that live nearby. Been going to these national tourneys for awhile and the upper weights are usually have a pretty weak turnout. 1 or 2 studs and everyone else adverage at best. Too much to spend for 1 or 2 good matches. |

Does the season actually start the 1st or does it stare the day of the 1st tournament/dual? I think maybe, on the 1st the "open mats" are now organized practices. I'd like to know, I don't want my kid to be ineligible. You know, Im going to drive there the morning of and then back that night.... If we can go
