For individuals...Pa & OH. For teams, it's clearly IL....we put our best on the mat representing our state on a team level and dominated in national competition and that included IA, MN, NJ (and all those Blair boys), OH, and PA. No argument. Three first places in Jr and Cadet team competition. Speculate all you want but there is the bottom line.

And I think IL has been 3rd or better for the past five years, no other teams can claim anything like that |

I don't know..
Peoples Champ... not only did Illinois win the duals last year, but at look at the New Jersey team they beat. Do you honestly think that either PA or OH could have put a better team on the mat? Most of our studs lost... and Ward and Kowulzuc come up big to win it for Team Illinois. It helps with studs that went undefeated like Nowry and Futrell. Still not convinced? Even if you want to add in OH and PA to the mix ( a la Fargo), Illinois had the most points at Fargo as well. I still think Illinois was the best team in the country last year.

There is no real way to ever say for sure. You have to also look at Senior Nationals which IL always sends a very thin group talent wise. You also have to look at NCAA results and how the guys do in college. I would say that in any given year that IL is 3-5. PA is hands down the best year in and year out followed by Ohio.

We are working on that. I know that Izzy Martinez is working on taking a full group and will have a BUS available for transportation which will help increase participation. However even thugh the group we have sent in the past 3-4 years has been thin numbers wise they have maxed out talent wise and have done fantastic getting to the podium a lot.

I prefer to err on the side of consistent, long-term results. For that reason I don't believe that Illinois is "clearly" the best state team-wise, according to mckbln. I feel that the kids in Illinois have made amazing strides in recent years and are now among the elite states (top five), but consistency dictates that it is Pennsylvania and Ohio by landslides.
