good luck Roxana

regardless of records and all of that comparison stuff..it was a very fun regional. Good luck.

Also I just got corrected about my previous post regarding Holloway and Kolb. Holloway got 4th at sectionals last year not regionals. I believe Kolb also.

balanced

What I am saying is....
Quote:
At least 10 wrestlers from this regional will make it to sectionals with losing records.....and in 3 of the weight classes it could be 2 qualifiers with losing records......That is with no upsets.......When you look at some of the other regionals around the state you might have 1 or maybe 2 that might get through with a losing record. Just wish there was a way to balance it out more.....

i agree

the 112 bracket was the best one to use as a comparison though.
A LOT of regional brackets were weak throughout the state, not just at Roxana.
Last year after state there was a breakdown of placers/champs and our sectional was 4th ---- hopefully that is what will turn around very soon

For the record

Byron Sectional 11 wrestlers with losing records, Clinton has 18 wrestlers with losing records, Robinson has 24 wrestlers with losing records, and Plano has 27 wrestlers with losing records plus 6 byes in the first round......I think that makes my point

I don't think records mean anything. Like me I weighed in at 119 but for team duels I would still weigh in at 119 but bump up for team purposes.

Ok perhaps the overall quality may have been down, this year, at Roxana but over the years this has been a good regional with great matches in the finals and third place matches. you listed the strength of the Harvard regional but failed to point out the lack of numbers in that regional. 3 guys at 119 3 guys at 125. Several weights with 4 or 5. perhaps the quaility was good but where are the numbers from this traditionally rich wrestling area? Can anyone shed some light on this?

No you didn't make a point! Read your original post where you singled out the Roxana regional.

Only thing your doing is blowing smoke. Again you dodged the question.

WHERE WAS YOUR REGIONAL?

Used 112 as a model since that's where my best interests are. Good point about Harvard only having 3 guys at 125.

I went through the numbers last year, and I found that almost half of the wrestlers from regionals make it to sectionals. It only makes sence that some will have a loosing record.
