Illinois Northstars beat Florida Hurricanes 46-34 and Team Tennessee 92-6. Next up, Minion Green followed by Team Palmetto.

United won their first round dual this morning over Indiana Blue, 88-3 and Illinois Orange and Blue lost a tough dual to Minion Black, 46-33.

Illinois Northstars finished 5-0 in pool competition to advance to the Gold Bracket for the first time since 2007. Next opponent, the Tiny Terps.

The Illinois Northstars beat the Maryland Tiny Terps in the quarterfinals of the gold bracket 58-30 to advance to the semifinals tomorrow morning where they will face Illinois Team United who beat Indiana Gold (don't know the final score).

Tomorrow should be a whole lot of fun when two Illinois teams face off. We feel honored to face a fine team like United. We look forward to giving it our best effort and are proud to know that an Illinois team will be represented in the finals of this great tournament.

First, Congratulations to both Illinois Teams.

This is reminding me of attending with my son in 2000. Twelve years have gone by very quickly indeed. Illinois had two teams there that year. Our team finished Third. The other finished eighth. Here's a listing of the team finishes and the all americans:

You never know how these young guys will do in the future, but here are some of the names from those two 2000 Illinois teams who were AA's:

[A bunch of IHSA state medalists, and a few NCAA AA's]

Adam Wyeth was on the team as a 40lb Kindergartner, lol. Not an AA, but we had a lot of fun.

So, enjoy, create a lot of memories, and expect to see some of these guys in Champaign in the years to come. Well done to the Coaches, too. It's not easy to put these teams together.
