NCAA Football "Final Four"

Yep, it's finally going to happen. Not the 8 team format I had hoped for, but at least there will finally be some sort of NCAA DI Football play-off. Two games to be played on New Year's Day, and cities will be bidding to host the final 6 days later.

I think four teams is plenty. Now we get to listen to the constant whining over who the number four team should be and how it's not fair Danso Tech got left out as well as who should be number two and get the better seed. It's a zero sum game when it comes to complaining. I think most fans will be happier though.

Also, the NCAA has always said that their sports are NOT all about $, but are all about enriching the "student-athletes'" experience while at school. Then, when explaining how this thing works they say that the title game will go to the highest bidding city. The NCAA is a joke!

I used to be in favor of a larger playoff system, but four is probably enough. If it gets to big, it will be like basketball, and you no longer have the best teams playing for the title, and teams like Butler are champs.
