2012 Rankings Trended Forward (106-132)
If we start with the final 2012 Rankings and:
- Remove graduating Srs - Add missing 2012 State Qualifiers - Move all Fr and So up one weight class for growth - Have everyone keep their previous rank # - Resolve ties to the Jr/Srs We would have the following starting rankings for 2013: RANK 106 2012 YR SCHOOL 2011-2012 RANK 1 Jim Pellegrino Sr Sandburg 6 2 Richard Browne Sr Glenbard N 8 3 Ryan Rubino Sr St Charles E 11 4 Wayne Yuan Sr Naperville N HM 5 Matt Sheehy Sr Barrington HM 6 Ronald Triche Sr Providence HM 7 Zach Stenger Sr Huntley HM RANK 113 YR SCHOOL 2011-2012 RANK 1 Matt Rundell So OPRF 1 - 106 2 Jordan Northrup Sr Harlem 2 3 Mike Cullen So Cary-Grove 2 - 106 4 Kris Williams So Thornton 3 - 106 5 Brian Rossi Jr Lockport 4 - 106 6 Trayvon Zabala Sr Joliet Central 6 7 Carlos Jacquez So W Aurora 7 - 106 8 Jake Drew So Glenbard E 9 - 106 9 Kegan Calkins Jr Wheaton N 10 - 106 10 Brad Martens Sr Geneva 12 11 Miguel Silva Jr Plainfield S 12 - 106 12 MJ Pritchard Sr New Trier HM 13 Nate Kessler Sr Highland Park HM 14 Jonah Mahoney Sr Zion-Benton HM 15 Mike Sikula Sr McHenry HM 16 Cory Pych Sr S Elgin HM 17 CJ Sojka Sr Glenbard W HM 18 Nate Smith Sr Austin HM 19 Milan Patel Sr Bolingbrook HM 20 Ben Clifford Sr Conant HM HM Austin Ryan Jr Jacobs HM - 106 HM Jeffrey Morrow Jr Elgin HM - 106 HM Colin Kenyon Jr New Trier HM - 106 HM Bobby Alexander So Conant HM - 106 HM Mike Burke Jr H-F HM - 106 HM Justin Nelson Jr Granite City HM - 106 HM Titus Taylor Jr Belleville W HM - 106 HM KJ Minor Jr Minooka HM - 106 HM Jack Pradel So Oswego HM - 106 HM Tommy Svestka So W Chicago HM - 106 HM Britches Sikula So McHenry HM - 106 HM Nick Gasbarro So Marist HM - 106 RANK 120 YR SCHOOL 2011-2012 RANK 1 Mark Duda Jr Marist 1 - 113 2 Sebastian Pique Sr Sandburg 2 3 Austin Strzelczyk Jr Lockport 7 - 113 4 Zac Denny Sr Harlem 8 5 Joel Shump Sr Batavia 11 6 Tyler Svestka Jr W Chicago 9 - 113 7 Johnny McCarthy Sr Lane Tech HM 8 Chris Alcock Sr New Trier HM 9 Sean McMahon Sr Andrew HM 10 Terry Calkins Sr Maine S HM 11 Christian Smith Sr Moline HM 12 Brad Ostdick Sr McHenry HM 13 Martin Martinez Sr Warren HM 14 Nick Dudzinski Sr Mundelein HM 15 Steve Polakowski Jr Libertyville HM - 113 16 Danny Carlson Jr Lane Tech HM - 113 17 Cory Winchell Jr Joliet W HM - 113 18 Nate Smalling So Belleville W HM - 113 19 Kameron Irvin So Proviso E HM - 113 RANK 126 YR SCHOOL 2011-2012 Rank 1 Jered Cortez Jr Glenbard N 1 - 120 2 Demechico Spraggins Sr Belleville W 3 3 Larry Early So OPRF 4 - 120 4 Nick Nasenbenny Jr Plainfield C 7 - 120 5 Austin Schoen Sr Lake Park 10 6 Joey Nelson Jr Lincoln-Way C 10 - 120 7 Matt Sears Sr Marist HM 8 Drake DeBenedetti Joliet Central HM 9 Sean Murray Sr Wheaton N HM 10 Brandon Kupczyk Sr York HM 11 Heath Weatherspoon Sr H-F HM 12 Kevin Conrad Sr Barrington HM 13 Marc Kosiek Sr Hinsdale S HM 14 Mike Infelise Sr McHenry HM 15 Haydon Grammer Sr Edwardsville HM 16 Mike McNulty Sr Minooka HM 17 Jacob Iguartua Sr Bradley HM 18 Trent Atkins Sr Cary-Grove HM 19 Mario Leveille Jr Marist HM - 120 20 Dominick Naso Jr Lockport HM - 120 HM Joe Fulco Jr Providence HM - 120 HM Sam Andresen Jr Edwardsville HM - 120 HM Chase Ori Jr Buffalo Grove HM - 120 HM Naquan Hardy Jr Romeoville HM - 120 RANK 132 YR SCHOOL 2011-2012 RANK 1 John Gosinski Sr Glenbard N 3 2 Isaiah Vela Jr St Charles E 4 - 126 3 Zak Hassan Sr Glenbard W 5 4 Jon Marmolejo Jr Glenbard N 5 - 126 5 Nick Gil Jr Crystal Lake S 6 - 126 6 Cullen Cummings Sr Downers N 7 7 John Pellegrino Jr Sandburg 7 - 126 8 Josh Martin Jr Glenbard E 8 - 126 9 Robbie Mikenis Sr Lincoln-Way C 9 10 Juwon Edmond So Hinsdale C 9 - 126 11 Sal Annoreno Sr Bartlett 10 12 Tanner Anthony So Harlem Q - 126 13 Abel Rios Sr Zion-Benton HM 14 Robert Svestka Sr W Chicago HM 15 Austin Graham Sr Metea V HM 16 Brian Egan Sr Buffalo Grove HM 17 Jeremy Brown Sr Plainfield C HM 18 Mike Underwood Sr Cary-Grove HM 19 Tommy Ward Sr Hinsdale C HM 20 Caleb Ramos Sr Romeoville HM HM Nick Fanella Sr Grant HM HM Jake O'Mara Sr OPRF HM HM Israel Santiago Jr Warren HM - 126 HM Jonathan Gahagan Jr OPRF HM - 126 HM Dan Radcliffe Jr Lockport HM - 126 |

No life
I bet 5 of the 6 wrestlers you listed at 106 never make 106 again. Silva ranked at 113 makes a lot of sence since he just wrestled 100 in Fargo, not!!! Rundell at 113? He just wrestled 120 in Fargo. Triche ranked at 106???? Triche was in a 130 bracket at Pinning down autism bracket in July.

I'm also going to guess that the guy you have ranked 11th at 132, you know, the defending state champion, probably won't be ranked there.

Highly doubt both Sikula's will be both at 113 for the same school.

Gentlemen, this exercise was purely mechanical. No account was taken for heads up matches, state placing, nor weights wrestled at any off season tournaments. Is this the likely initial rankings - not in a lot of cases. I think what this list does give is a viable candidate pool of top wrestlers at each weight. This is likely the same exercise a lot of wrestlers are doing right now as they try to figure out what weight they want to be at come season, be it in their own teams lineup or strategic positioning for the big dance...

shoeshineboy posts: 57
James Olivia posts: 1667 (plus filmed events, etc for the people on this site. & I don't think he ever mentioned a "pud" - which is regional dialect even in Illinois...) - The statement should be reversed..., this is the post that gets kicked around all year, so, as he mentioned, he just was getting the ball rolling...obviously Kris Williams, etc. will be much higher depending on the weight he wrestles, etc...but rankings of little importance anyway... |

I agree. During this slow time with no real wrestling going on I appreciate the guys time and effort. It is virtually impossible to predict what weights most of these guys will be at. With teams changing classes the 1st set of rankings will be interesting to say the least. There is 1 thing I can guarantee though about those rankings and that is that people will post on here how so & so will never see that weight and that Tom should be ranked higher than Dick and why isnt Harry ranked.
