Your point is...

It appears there is a lot more IKWF teams out there than IESA teams. I'm sure that is your point, interesting as it may be.

I think his point is that all those people wrestled prior to high skool...non of em just came up from no where. They did good before it really matterd.

Nic9er...

My apologies for my misinterpretation of the reason for your post. I just get a bit tired of the IESA slams. Kids don't have much of a chance anymore if they don't wrestle prior to High School.

Smile

I don't slam the IESA ... I like some of what they do and some of what the IKWF does ... it's some of the rules that are a little ummmm well .... I don't want to write a book it is late and I have to wake up and drive home in the morning.

Yep most of the top 3 were IESA placers, IKWF placers, or they were wrestling some where .... I don't think this year there are any freshman starter wrestlers, all had a little success before coming into high school. Some of the North and West Illinois teams only have intermural wrestling which I hate but it is better than no wrestling. But the school A.D.'s at the middle school levels don't understand wrestling is a sport you CAN NOT pick up in 2 weeks of practice plus 1 week of live wrestling and be successful come high school.

Ok time to cut this post or it will not be a book .... out for now ......

Wink 171-Robinson IKWF

FYI: Jayce Waggoner 171 single A runnerup was also 2 time SQ for the Robinson Jr. Maroons IKWF. I also agree and know first hand that these programs IKWF or IESA are VERY important to the success at the high school level. Paul Grover is the coach of Jr. Maroons Wrestling program and RHS Asst. Wrestling Coach. HE is the reason Jayce and several other wrestlers from our local program have had success at the state level. Thank you Paul for all you've done for Jayce and these other young men. There are not enough words to express our appreciation!
