Day 1 Random Thoughts @ the National Duals

Here are some random thoughts from the National Duals in Cedar Falls, IA

The roads were very dangerous...

There are no snow plows in the state of Iowa...

UNI is in the middle of Nowhere Iowa...

I love the duals...

Mohawks look dumb on college wrestlers...in fact they just plain look dumb...

I think the same grumpy old people that work at Assembly Hall's Dome also work at Northern Iowa's Dome too...

Where else can I see the best teams male and female all in one building...

Iowa looks unbeatable...

Nebraska - Omaha looks unbeatable...

Former Illinois State Champ Tim Springs (Bremen) is back on the mat after a 4 year absence at North Iowa Area Community College at 165...good for him...

Christian Brantley (Mt. Carmel / No. Iowa) is the most amazing heavyweight in America...

I wish Nate Everhart (Andrew / Indiana 285) was at 197...

Iowa State is really banged up...I mean really banged up...

Augsburg looks unbeatable...

Brett Metcalf (Iowa 149) looks unbeatable...

Brett Robbins (Northern Iowa) is back on the mat after almost two years of major injuries...

Wrestling in college is so brutal...

Nick Fanthorpe (Naperville No / Iowa State) has a lot of close matches...

Nebraska-Omaha had 20 matches and only gave up a total of TWO bonus points...unreal...

Wartburg looks unbeatable...

If Iowa's Brett Metcalf is the best wrestler in college then Northwestern's Hebert is # 2

and Nebraska - Lincoln's Jordan Burroughs is # 3

Angel Escobedo (Indiana 125) is still injured and it shows...

How good could Nebraska be with Paul Donahoe and Kenny Jordan???

Tyler Clark just is freaking amazing...

Has Minnesota fallen off or is it just me...

Iowa will beat Nebraska - Lincoln by 20

There are a lot of Illinois kids in this tournament...

The UNI security stopped Nebraska-Omaha fans from ringing their cowbells after take downs because they were interfering with the ESPN cameras...

...and we wonder why wrestling is not fan friendly...

the officiating was so-so...

Where is the University of Illinois and why are they not at the National Duals???

Stephen Dwyer (Nebraska) is the real deal...

Iowa's Tom Brands is crazy...

No team in America has more fans than Iowa...it's like being at a Cubs game except Iowa always win...

Iowa State vs Cornell in the semis will be a good dual...

and then the winner will lose by 25 to Iowa...

Where is Northern Illinois and why are they not at the National Duals???

Ohio State's Lance Palmer is really big...and he wrestles Bears too...

DII defending national champ Nebraska - Kearney will lose to Newbury...

who will lose to Nebraska-Omaha...in the finals...

Jeff Jaggers (Ohio State) is a defending national champ and he is ranked 14th in the country...and we complain about rankings here in Illinois...

Augsburg has given up 0 points and Wartburg has given up 3 points in DIII...Coe and Delaware Valley have a problem in the semis against these two schools....

Can McKendree make the finals???

Has Penn State fallen off or is it just me...

Why does the concession stand sell popcorn but has no popcorn salt?

Clayton Rush (Coe) is the real deal...he would AA in DI...

University of the Cumberlands (Women's) looks unbeatable...

Where is Elmhurst and why are they not at the nationals Duals???

Can someone from Illinois send snow plows to Iowa to rescue us???
