Kudos to the JCA coach. This was the right call.
This move should be illegal has it is vertually impossible to stop by calling potentially dangerous as it is happening to fast, countless dislocated shoulders and concussions have resulted from this move

I will disagree. A trapped arm is easy to spot. You see a lift or even the beginnings of a lift and you blow the whistle, potentially dangerous.

I haveta believe that's how this typically should be handled. A good ref often communicates what he's looking for to the wrestlers while the action is happening.

Not ideal. But the last thing we need is another illegal move to disqualify people with.

My understanding is that 3-4 hours of surgery was performed on Sunday so that first hurdle is cleared.

I wish Cam and his family all the best in his recovery. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

We all look forward to your recovery.

I also say a prayer for his opponent and his coach that their minds are clear of any feelings of guilt from being involved in this tragic incident.

With all due respect to the arguments of legal vs illegal, is there an update on the kid? How's he doing?

As I wrote earlier: surgery was performed on Sunday. First hurdle cleared.

He went home yesterday and last I've heard is that the doctor said everything has gone as best case scenario for the bad situation he's in. It'll be a long road of recovery but the arrow is pointing up.

I can report that the young man had successful surgery and is at home recovering. His doctor thinks he will make a full recovery.

Absent a rule change, lifting someone makes you responsible for their safe return regardless of their actions. Case book 7.1.1 SITUATION B.
