Throwback Thursday: Joe Williams

I think Joe is the best wrestler to come out of Illinois but as it has been said before that is left to debate. An even better question is where would u put Joe in a best of college wrestlers of all time list?

That is such a tough question however there haven't been that many three timers at Iowa. By wins I think he's right up there but Joe really didn't dominate through those wins. He had some tough matches. He wrestled a lot like Lee Kemp. He'd beat a former National champ 4-2 and then he's beat a kid ranked 12th 4-2.

Probably the real question is who is the next best out of Illinois (and the Twisters) because Joe has the top spot locked up?

@Mr. Twister You think Joe has it "locked up" as the best wrestler to come out of the Twister program? Tony Davis was a 5x state champ. As they went into HS I might have to put Tony ahead of Joe as a grammar school wrestler.

IMO my top 3 Twisters: regardless of champ status
Tony Davis
Steve Williams
Joe Williams

Yes coming out of 8th grade yes but after that in my opinion the baton passed to Joe...we all have our versions or opinions...both are great guys and I am glad they are on my team...T4L
